Always thought of the Scout as being a very delicate looking aircraft
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Mossie

A lot of the early war aeroplanes looked like they'd fall apart if you looked at them.

Very steampunk.  It'd look great on updated suspension and wheels.

Why did they armour the gun barrels like that?  Are they particulalrly vulnerable?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

You don't really want holes in the water cooling jackets. The actual barrels are relatively thin for better heat transfer, so without the water and with airflow blocked by the empty jacket, they heat up FAST.

They do look good don't they? I always like the British Vickers-Crossley/Vickers-Guy Indian Pattern ones with the dome-shaped turret:

Vickers-Crossley IGA1 4x4. Some of these bodies were later transferred to Chevvy chassis:

Vickers-Crossley IGA3 6x4:

The Vickers-Guy looks good. Not sure if it's meant to be that way, but the guns pointing in the same direction looks better than them being at all angles - and yes, I get the ball-mount thing, but....

Vickers vehicles: early Dalek prototypes.  :dalek:  ;)

IIRC those flanges weren't armoured and were there to protect the barrel from knocks and bangs, which as Harold mentioned, the cooling jacket was vulnerable to.

Jack the rear up, lower the front and get it racing with their Lanchester kit.

Thanks for all the pics H.

They had a wonderfully diverse collection of armoured cars on the Copper State stand at Telford.
