What if the Admiralty wasn't convinced that the F-35 was going to be the aircraft they needed. V/STOL wasn't a necessity, but STOL was, especially when operating from the new Collosus class nuclear powered super carriers. The Osprey was designed and built in partnership with Kawasaki and Mitsubishi of Japan, as they needed an aircraft to operate from their new Samurai class carriers, and they too were sceptical of the F-35.
The Osprey is a multi role aircraft of fifth generation, it serves alongside BAE sea typhoons, of which are new build aircraft not modified ex RAF aircraft. The Osprey is capable of very short landing and take off, due to the thrust vectoring engine nozzles and movable tail planes and wing tips. This aircraft is on deployment to the Pacific and sea of Japan and along with the sea typhoons taking part in an "exercise". The carriers were built in partnership with Canada and BAE America and the UK.
The Osprey is carrying 2 stealthy anti ship versions of the sky shadow missile, long range tanks, a pair of Iris - T missiles and four internally mounted ASRAAM missiles. The kit is the only one in town hasegawa shinden II. The canopy need another coat of paint then sticking down, and I am not overly keen on the position of the sky shadows, so I could shift them.
Build wise it went together nicely. Oh and the decals are F-35  ones from kits world.

Looking good ! Does look a little busy under the wing with the sky shadows so close to the tanks.

PS- looking forward to Canada getting the new Colossus carriers !

Yeah I think so too, so I will either swap the tanks for slimmer ones or ditch them and put something in their place. The sky shadows are where they are so they don't foul the flaps

That looks really cool.  I was thinking about getting that kit for some kind of whiffing as well.

Nicely done, like me a carrier bird.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Thankyou for your positive words everyone, I wouldn't mind doing another one of these, as they go together nicely. Maybe a USMC bird in a camouflage scheme.
