The American Shackleton

What if the USAF and the USNAVY had purchased the Avro Shackleton MR.3, then given the contract to Martin to convert to the American specifications.
The avionics would have been upgraded to use the American voltage and those Rolls-Royce Griffons exchanged for Dart turboprops. For the USAF a gunship ground attack, electronic warfare and a weather reporting aircraft. The USNavy would have used them for hunting submarines, combat search and rescue and airborne early warning.
Deployed during the Vietnam War, so there's a range of camouflage paint schemes, weapons and lumpy bits.
There's a few Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop conversion sets in 1/72 scale and the odd Mach 2 kit would be a worthy donor
Some of the Shackletons would have been adapted for other uses and the odd MR.2 been sourced.

Quite a lot of my early started but not completed builds will be covered, most rebuilt for the shelf in my hobby room.
