This vehicle has been in the wars quite literally. Being involved in the last few days of ww2, Korea and after being sold off and shipped to Africa, and being involved in several civil wars. Then it was  acquired by the Uranium mining consortium and given a mechanical refresh, including a new power plant. The  tank was otherwise quite the same as it was when it rolled off the production line in 1945, and 20 years later, still going strong, and upsetting the insurgents trying to over run the Uranium mine. I have a bit of tidying up to do and finish the track painting, then that will be it. Kit is the Trumpeter 1/72 scale m26 pershing, not a bad kit to build, but the tracks let it down big time as nothing seems to glue them, even though the instructions say plastic cement will work, erm.....

I have done some more work to this and weathered it a little bit. It is going to keep it's turret as too much plastic needs to come out of the sherman turret ring to fit it. Nevermind.

Sucks about the tracks. The kit does look good tho ! Always wanted to build one, in 35th scale tho.

Absolutely, not a lot I can do with the things to be honest, unless I can get some aftermarket ones. The kit went together nicely, which is good. I am on with my upgrade sherman now.

Show me how the tracks connect. I built the Trumpy T-55 recently and had some luck gluing them together.

I will take some pics later for you Tom. Maybe sewing them would have worked better, but doubt my fingers would cope.

Oddly enough the sewing of tracks came up yesterday when I bought the Buffalo. I used to get my mum to do it at one point. I'm hoping one of the more "modern" glues will work on these ones though.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Very nicely done Chris mate  ;D
I dont know why but so many tracked models in 72nd that track problem ,,i've had the same problem when i remember some of the 76th and 72an scale tanks i build has a kid ...as Chris ( Narses ) mentioned and i think you bloke did to lol ,,sewing them together ,, that works fine if the tracks are long enough but so many of them ain't ,,there like two links to short and no amount of sewing will fix that which is a shame cause you end up with a bloody nice model to start with ,,like Chris's M26 and then it's ruined by crap tracks . :banghead:

Cap'n mate ,,,, ya want a really good M26 in 35th then go with the Tamiya one ,,had it a few times ,,beautiful model .. Hobbyboss make on to but on mine the tracks are far to narrow and i had to get AM ones to make em look correct and it's not as much a pleasure to build as the Tamiya one   ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Cheers Phil, I tried to hide the crap tracks as best as I could by sticking the joints underneath, but they can still be seen unfortunately. Fingers crossed I have better luck with the tracks on the Hasegawa sherman, seen as I can't use the 3D printed ones now.

Wish you the best of luck mate ,, i built alot of Matchbox's 76th armour kits when i was a kid as they were cheap and mum would be happy to be me one or two .. ithey had one of either two problems ,,tracks to short or to long  ;D
To long is better
There's a simple fix to the track to short problem bud ,,side skirts ,,I've used that trick many times to hide that issue..the skirts don't even need to be that big to hide the tracks which is great

@Wardukw  I think one of the modifications to the sherman will be some different / more modern side skirts, so they can hide dodgy tracks if need be.
