Plus which, it means there's not added strain on the trackwork and it's attachment points to the hull...

Final bits added, just waiting for everything to set before I can start painting tomorrow.

You may want to think about streamlining/fairing the fronts of
the track sponsons, flat surfaces
like that create huge drag in water. It's why paddles and oars work, and also why paddle-wheels don't work in the air, despite the wishful thinking of numerous garden shed aeroplane inventors.
;D
It doesn't have to be much, even just simple angled plates going from the outside of the sponson to a point on the hull just fwd. of the sponson. The sponson fwd. end would then be triangular on top.

Absolutely valid point, but my mojo crash dived during this build and I've really had to struggle through to get this one painted, weathered and finished  :banghead:

An interesting and well executed  piece of work.  Makes one wonder about potential developments of the RN X-craft.       Compare and contrast, as they say in exam questions.

Looks great!  I really like the camouflage.  I've been kinda obsessed with old submarines lately, and ran across a WWI German journalist's description of his time in a submarine as being like inside the shell of a steel mollusc.  Malodorous, damp, and steamy.  Of course I can't find that quote now..

Thank you very much!
Well, the Seehund itself was a development of the X-class subs. Perhaps doing a Seehund with a few tweaks would be a good place to start? Oooooh, that's got me thinking now 🤔

Very kind! German midget submarines had some great camouflage schemes so I knew I had a bit of free reign with what to do. I was trying to think of what the most effective camouflage would be to obscure the Otter's shape, but I couldn't think of anything clever so I just did that scheme because it was simple.
I'm going through a bit of a submarine fascination at the moment as well! That description is quite memorable   ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

You could have looked closer to home - I kinda liked this scheme  ;)  :
