BAe Hawk replacement

 The Ministry of Defence UK hasn't made up it's mind what will replace the BAe Hawk in the training role.
Contenders from the USA and Italy are in the running but there's a few alternatives that could be built underlicence .
To support the BAe Hawk a limited number of the Dassault Alpha jets were purchased.

Would it be possible to build a brand new version based on the existing model?

In the days of 18 Group/11 Group the plan was to use the Hawk in the maritime role carrying a Sea Eagle or a pair of Harpoon ASW missiles and doubled up as a fighter/interceptor during the phasing out of the BAC Lightning although these were never used during active service in these areas.
