Here's an old 1/72 Airfix (I think) Viggen done up as a naval fighter for use with Sweden's light carriers.  It replaced the Naval Draken in the early 80's and served till it to was replaced in the mid-90's by Naval Gripens.

I modified the tail end slightly.  I removed the ventral fin, and replaced it with a tailhook and two strakes on either side of the hook.  I repositioned the main landing gear so instead of the wheels being one in front of the other, they were remounted side-by-side with some sort of wheel repositioning system for when the wheels are retracted into the plane.

Sweeeeeeeeet!

It never occoured to me about using the Viggen as a carrier bird. Gripen yes, but the STOL ability would make it natural for a carrier.

If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
