The Military Miniature Society of Illinois is having its big show in Schaumburg, Illinois this weekend. It's worth the trip. Some awesome miniature work plus lots of other models too. I'm going to try to be there this time.

It should be a really big show as it's the 50th anniversary this year.  :o  So it's going to be crazy busy and crowded, both in terms of people and models.
I'm going to try and take my what if future carrier (Picture below). But there's no guarentee it'll fit in the back of my friend's truck. Nor is there any guarentee I'll even be able to show it at the show as I was told by the show staff that they couldn't guarentee any table space to display it.  :o  The thing is just too damn big.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

That would be very unfortunate! I'd love to see it in person.

Well, I did manage to take my carrier to the MMSI show. It just barely fit in the back of my friend's truck alongside all our other luggage.
And I got lucky that there was enough table space at the show to even display my carrier.
The show was packed! At least 260 exhibitors. And if I had to guess how many model entries, I'd say roughly 500-750.  :o

Wow that's great! It sure helps make all that hard work feel worth it!
The IPMS Nationals is in Fort Wayne IN next year. I know it would be difficult for you to make it but it would be awesome!

Fort Wayne you mean.
Anyway, there's not a snowball's chance in hell of me going to the Nats next year. My modeling friend that I go to contests with does not like to drive long distances. So Fort Wayne would be out of the question. If I go again to the Nats in the future, I hope it comes back to Madison, or Chicago, or Milwaukee.

Well done on the awards
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Now I just need to come up with something else to build and display for next year. And the only option left is my Christmas bomber project here:

I'm still trying to get an elusive Gold medal and this might be the only project left in my idea bank that might help me do it.
The hardest thing about MMSI is that the show mainly revolves around storytelling. This show focuses on model subjects that show a scene or tell a story.
And that's what I need to do is create a diorama and show a scene/story with the B-2.

Congratulations on the prizes.

Nice to see Schaumburg, IL get a mention as it's one Chicago suburb I have visited.
