Sharp looking F-16!  Why the F100 engine though?  The F110-129 can go in the same engine bay and it's honestly a better powerplant, especially for what is essentially an F-16 with bigger wings.  Granted the F110-powered F-16s have a bigger intake, so if you didn't have one of those on hand maybe I've answered my own question.

Thanks. Yeah it was what I had on hand. It wasn't till I started the build that I realized the F-2 didn't use the F100 or the F110 so the only spare exhaust that I had was from the F-16I so I just used that one. In my research I learned that Vought offered a number of engine proposals including the F401, F101 and of course the F100. But as usual, it comes down to what's in the old spares box.  ;D

And a note to future Whiffers, unless it's changed in recent years, Hasegawa never produced the wide mouth intake, only the narrow for their F-16s. Revell have produced both, though I think you have to be careful which kit you pick.

Hasegawa has been doing the wide mouth intake in both 1/48 and 1/72, on several boxes of F-16C/D kits, since the early 1990s. I have built and still have a few in my stash. They made kits of Block 40 jets and the parts were there since then. I actually have a couple in 1/72 in my spares box from my F-16W builds on which I used the F-16E kits. Those kits have both the narrow and wide mouth intakes and both the P&W and GE engines. They also include main gear bulged doors and different wheels, missile rails...

PS: Those parts can currently be found on the F-16I Sufa in 1/72 and in the F-16F Desert Falcon boxes in 1/48.

BTW, the F-2A/B only use the GE engine and have the narrow mouth intake.😉
