I'm pleased to announce that an early-style exhaust to convert the Airfix Gloster Javelin to a FAW.1 - FAW.6 is now available on the online store. The set consists of 1x exhaust fairing, 2x jetpipes, and 2x turbine faces. Priced at £6.50 plus postage. Visit https://machinamodels.co.uk/.

Nominally 1/72 scale, but can be printed in 1/48 upon request (note I have not tried this on a 1/48 kit).

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Here's what I achieved with my Airfix kit. I appreciate its not a Whif so humour me. I used some additional 3d printed bits from TeeELL from Britmodeller and UAMF forums.

I give you a 3 Sqn FAW.4

No, just the one. But I realised I wouldn't have posted this on here since its real.

Also, I think its important to show that the parts I make can generate a good outcome. I've certainly bought not-to-be-named parts/kits in the past that have clearly never been built into anything by the creator.

Ah, I followed your build on Britmodeller and must have thought it was another build of yours from this one. I will get the parts from you, just not in the immediate future though.

Always liked the Javelin, I think when I was a kid it was almost "futuristic", and that's a nice build of one.

Very true on both counts

Yes, I still shudder at the memory of trying to fit an Airwaves etch kit into an Italeri Tornado F3. It did not end well...

Resin cockpit inserts were notorious. They looked incredible but hardly ever fitted  :-\
