Gondor

Just had a flight of Helicopters flying down river. I was a little slow getting outside to get a good view of them, so I have no idea what they were. Time 10:50 local, at least four of them and all of them single rotor aircraft and the same type.

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Not exactly 'over my house', or even over anything, apart from the road, but I spotted and all over yellow RAF Sea King (202 Sqdn. as I saw the duck under the cockpit...) travelling North on the A34 just south of Oxford. I didn't know there were any left outside museums, but maybe this one was in transit between one museum and another.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

A400
I cannot think of what else it could be: a pretty big grey beast with 4 propellers and T-tail.

PR19_Kit

That describes an A400M EXACTLY!

It was probably one of Historic Helicopters fleet. They are based near Yeovil.
They had a Sea King dressed up as Marine One a while back.

Two Goodwood-based Spitfires have just zipped past the bottom of the road, heading east.

Now following them on Flightradar24, they appear to have been in a photoshoot (or a dogfight!) with a Cessna Caravan just off Beachy Head.  Now heading back.

Binoculars time!

EDIT: and one Spit over the house on the way back to Goodwood.

EDIT 2: I was mistaken.  It was Spitfire Tr.9 G-TCHI plus HA-1112 G-AWHH.  The latter appears to have gone back to Biggin Hill (went to Goodwood yesterday).

EDIT 3: courtesy of Flighradar24 I was able to deduce that it was Hotel India playing above Pagham on Thursday when I popped over to the Manhood Peninsula.  Yes it really is called that!

I had to check that and was amazed to discover how many places in the world are called Moron (mainly hispanic roots). Me, being a typical insular Cockney just assumed it was a miss-type and moron basicaly meant idiot. Oh the wonders off the English language   ;D

Geo-pedant mode on

Moron:=  Arabic origin, probably denoting a 'hidden' place.

Ah, well that probably explains why a lot of the places that came up are in southern Spain.  They then obviously took the name with them to the America's.

More helicopters flying overhead, definitely a Chinook among them and not all of them at the same time. I think there is a big exercise further north, this would explain the heavier-than-usual aviation traffic.

Just heard a strange engine sound, and very low over the house flew the Dassault Flamant which had been at Shuttleworth this weekend. It was heading more or less southeast, so likely heading home to the continent
