The southern part of the SIG, Richard and myself today, and Richard and Trevor tomorrow, put up a SIG stand the above show today/tomorrow.

We had a 3-table stand, but some ratbag pinched one table so we were a bit cramped for space, but had an interesting day. As it was a very mixed 'audience' there were many modellers, of all sides, who needed explaining about Whiffs, and we were both pretty busy all day.

The stand in its entirety.

The stand in sections, moving from the right to the left.

You can see how they placed us in temptations way here, right in front of two food stands and right alongside a third one!

Bang in the middle of the hall was what you might think is a Spitfire Mk IX. It wasn't, it was a hand built replica using many real Spitfire parts, including the entire cockpit and landing gear. The whole lot done by one man and his son!

Quite how anyone could tell it wasn't the real thing defeats me, it makes the fibreglass gate guardians that some RAF stations use look like toys!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Which raises the question, When does a re-construction using original parts transition down into a replica using original parts?

Because I've heard of & read about re-constructions that used no more original parts than that Spitfire.

I'll call the lawyers  ;)  Nah, seriously you're right, and it's a discussion I'm not starting on here
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
