I have started the build yesterday, placed some parts of sheet in one side of the fuselage to make it stiffer 🔧 .

This kit is in production since 1979 , and i build it in that time aged 14 ( sadly lost it 20 years ago, was a not so bad diorama project ) .

The vacu kit will be completed with the original Matchbox 188 kit of that time .
It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep .
Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Love a vacform build

Good move adding some rigid formers at this stage

PR19_Kit

Who did that kit way back then? Was it Airmodel perhaps?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You are absolutely right, and they sell it still today .

I can remember how fragile the fuselage was at my first build, and i got some new experience collected the last years 😂 and i will ad some more pieces after sanding the fuselage .

There will be come some inventions around the engines and props, there was a mostly unknown prototype build in late Summer 1945 😉 .

Yup, I never thought of that.

Only got a couple of vacforms left in the stash

I still have a few of their vacforms knocking about, they do quite interesting stuff.

Same here.. I have quite a box full.
This makes it out onto the bench every year or so. It is looked at and then the rational brain side says... no.. put it back  ;D

So looking to live my Vacform building days vicariously through this build

.... he he that is realy not easy to watch. For me the 388 in her slim line version is at the other side of the contest, i have always thougt that it is a very beautiful plane

I've gotta remember to keep an eye on this build  :banghead:
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

This is going very slow.
Thank you very much for watching

To much work in our business,  broken bicycles and the Landy needs my time,  parents and the garden....
