Saw a few this morning on the way to work must have been a swarm of them around the Southeast of London due to the heatwave.

Well, they do have wings.  :tornado:

That's true, I forgot that  :banghead:

Thanks for reminding thick head here

No real progress, to hot, to busy with various bits of Site admin and Palace won the EUEFA Conference League Cup last night  :drink:   :drink:

Got the masking off the Ki-98 and there's a few touch ups required but overall I'm quite happy with it.  Only real issues are that I swear the Xtracolour is still not fully dry ?  :banghead: and where I used Tamiya flexible masking tape for curves it appears to have a slight glue residue ? Need to use some warm water and cotton buds to see if I can remove it.

I now need to start assembling the 98. Now yes I know I've painted it, but the fit is so good that I was able to paint the fuselage and booms separately. Made painting/masking the booms in particular so much easier.

Xtracolour has long been loathed due to it's... flexible drying times.  I've heard people complaining about it for a good 30+ years.

Now we just pray that the paint hasn't messed with the fit.

Yup, I avoid it where possible, but unfortunately I didn't have IJA Grey or Green in White Ensign (my favourite enamel) and my Tamiya had "glooped" up  :banghead:

I've been very, very careful to avoid mating services, but prayers will still be said before I start assembly  ;) But it made the booms so much easier to paint.

Seriously I can seriously recommend this kit fit wise. One of the best I've tackled, right up there with current toolings from ARMA, IBG and the like

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

This kit was so enjoyable that I wanted to start all over again with a new one. Very few kits reach that level of fun.

Slow progress on the 98 and 187. Bearing in mind I'm away for a couple of weeks it might be a bit of a push to get the GB build finished, but I am determined

Just to prove I am actually making a little progress, here's a shot of the bench as of this morning.

Chris, I hate to tell you but, your Ki-98 is infected with ringworm*!
