The war machine that willingly carried out the aims of the German state. It also demonstrated a grotesque, tone-deaf disregard for the people of Europe who were victims of the Nazi German war of conquest and extermination. The Wehrmacht -Heer, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine, from the high command down through the ranks, knew exactly the purpose of the war launched by the state, the conquest, subjugation and "cleansing" of the East. The war in the West was to get revenge for WWI and to secure the rear to prevent the establishment of a second front.

Operation Delusional is a more
appropriate name.
