Hey, all - I find myself in need of some spinners from 1/48 and 1/32 scale aircraft.  Similarly-sized radomes could also work, if you have some going spare.  :)

Thanks!

What about the noses from bombs or drop tanks, as an alternative?

Depending on the size, sure.  I want them to serve as propulsors for some subs I'm whiffing, so I need large complex curved shapes.  Since I don't build in 1/48 or larger scales, I lack internal resources, as you might say.

Fair enough.
I can't help with them, but that could be another thing to ask about.

Wave rocket nozzles are cheap and the larger ones are pretty big:

Another option and a bit larger are model rocket nose cones. And you can check the toy aisle at thrift stores and dollar/pound stores with inexpensive Chinese toys.  The parts are out there!  Good luck and good hunting.
What sizes and shapes are you looking for and where are you located?  I'm exiled to a small town motel this week but can check the stash when I get home.

For my lady wife's sanity I try to stay out of thrift & dollar stores - I'm way too "greeblie-conscious" for my own good.  The last time I was in Ocean State Joblot I came home with three packs of plastic shot glasses that featured recessed bottoms and splining on the outside bottom third ... in neon yellow, orange, and green.

She now asks, "Is this a model part or can I toss it?" whenever she finds a random plastic thingy ...

I've been known to buy lots of built/broken models on Evilbay for a future project or an idea.  For a while there I was buying "aircraft on floats" kits with the idea of putting a Westland Whirlwind on floats (retracting backwards to be in-line with the engin nacelles) - but someone's already done that, so phooey.  :/

Just because it's been done, it doesn't mean it's the end of the world, or that you can't use the idea - you can always do your own version...
Other opinions vary, of course; that's just my .02c...

So it's been done.  You can do it better, or differently, or worse even.  But it'll be yours.  Do it.
