I know mobile phones used to be bigger but that's ridiculous.

Are they off to set up a call centre?

It's not so much "I'm on my phone" as "my phone's on me".....

A South Pole call centre? That should be cheap to run, especially in their winter........................NOT!

The bloke at the front in the blue shirt doesn't appear to be shouldering his share of the load.
He must be management...

;D

Says something for the toughness of the old phone boxes though: when you have to send them half way around the world to an Indian shipyard to be scrapped like a battleship.....

The Chieftain has just done a walkaround on the ACEC Cobra APC, which was part of the inspiration for the backstory of the Trackrover:

I was talking to a friend about Whiffing and this forum, and they said, as my friends often do about the dark corners I spend my time in; "How do you even find this stuff?"

So I thought about it for a second, and years ago when I was maybe fourteen or fifteen and hadn't yet starting shaving my bra (when I was last a frequent model builder) I would scroll the Airfix Tribute Forum, I think, when I was at my grandparents on my own and was without a friend to ride bicycles with or a model to build, and I saw this magnificent model. I love land rovers, I love lurid orange, and the nature of the internet is such that many fourteen year olds of my disposition love Monty Python, so it really captured my imagination, and reading that thread brought me here.

All of this waffle is to say: Weaver, it's all your fault!

It was the Trackrover  that led me to Whiffery in the first place, when I discovered it by accident when looking for Landrover spares on line.  Then I found the Meteor PR 19 and its wonderful backstory  and there was no turning back!

Now, that is a connection from Left Field!  ;D
Still, we're more than happy you found the place.

I can't remember how I first came to this site, I was likely surfing for model stuff and happened upon something whiffy that led me here.
And after a few years lurking, I actually joined up and started annoying you all.  ;)

DeeBob and Rheged :

1. Most things are my fault if you look hard enough, as some people are wont to do...

2. Wow, thanks. I'd no idea it had been so influential. I also had no idea that it'd appeared on the Airfix Tribute Forum somehow.

16 years ago eh? Now I feel damned old...  ;D

I may be wrong about where it was I saw it, but it's definitely been an influence!
