ITAR = International Traffic in Arms Regulations

A body of US law, based on international agreements, that regulates the export of any military good, service, or technology with steep penalties.  Knowing my way around this body of law, at least in the basics, is one of the requirements of my job with an annual re-certification.  A right royal pain in the arse, too.
