Season's greetings to all!

A couple of things:

* I've updated the lost-stagnant profile page at:
http://www.dataviewbooks.com/what-if.html
You've probably seen the "new" stuff posted here, but I took the time to get it all on one page.

*Here's a mystery to me: an early 1950s Chance-Vought patent for something that looks quite fast ;-) Anyone have better data?

No hard data I'm afraid, but it's very similar in confguration to the Bristol 188.  There's probably no relationship there, except that like the 188 it was probably designed for research into high mach speeds.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

It appears in Tony Buttler's new book American Secret Projects on page 57, it's labelled the V-371 Interceptor Project (22.1.51) There's a 3-view drawing of it and some photos of a model made by John Hall and some basic data for it.  The u/c is Harrier style with the outriggers in the engine nacelles which are about 32 feet long.  So you should be able to figure out the rest of it.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

It also looks highly derivative of the Tsybin RSR (or vice-versa), which supposedly could have had performance figures like the SR-71.  I believe a 7/8 scale RSR prototype flew at one point.  Beyond that, ????
