Popped over for an hour or so, there were a few whiffs there so I grabbed some pics. Sorry about the quality, still saving for a better digicam.

First up are two non-whiffs I enjoyed, the Horatio-Philip multiplane from 1893, scratch-built by Jean Marc Perrault:

Next is an incredible Canadair Challenger prototype with mind blowing scratch-built detail, and it's 1/144th! Didn't get the builder's name, but for him -

#3
A wild-arse CF-18 which looks as if it was based on a magazine article, unfortunately it was under the model and I didn't want to risk lifting it. It looks like the ultimate electronic warfare aircraft, with more antennae than a 1950's housing development:

And finally an Avro Arrow Mk8, by Gary Playford

Wow!  That Challenger really is amazing.  The rest are'nt bad either!!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Trust me on this guys, those pictures don't do that Challenger the credit it deserves, seeing it for real is truly an experience. When you think that it was in 1/144th it makes it even more awe inspiring. I didn't stick around to find out the winners, but I'll check the IPMS Canada web site and see if the results are up yet.

I was disappointed by the small number of whiffers though, the three I photographed were the only ones. Perhaps I'll bite the bullet, take out a membership to IPMS, and ask about setting up a table at a show. Perhaps make up a 3-fold brochure about the subculture, a link to this site, some pics. If I do then I might ask for some hi-res photos of some of your work fellas, and print them out for a display board.

Rat, I'd be in for delivering a few models up to your place to display. Or maybe even attending if I can get away with it !
