Hi Guys, Long time no see.
Question, I don't know a more knowlegable group than you lot. I'm trying to get some information on 207 Squadron Lancasters. My girlfriend's father, a chap named Harrison, was a Nav on board and was gonged by the King. I'd like to replicate his Lanc for her for Santa Day. He got a good on, a DFC by discription of the thing, though I havn't actually see the thing.
She misses her pop considerably yet knows nothing of his wartime experiences. She only discovered his medals after he passed on some time back.
I've searched the net for a few days, fruitless attempt.

I realize this isn't a what if project, but I would appreciate any help you lads can offer.

Hey Gary, you should go ask this on Britmodeler.com, couple of real knowlegable guys on WW2 RAF research (Edgar and Miduppergunner).

Hi Gary. Has your g/f got access to his logbooks?. these would help tie down his aircraftas most crews noted the serial and code of the one they flew. of the three view above the gray letters were early war. more common ly the letters were brick red.
scroll down this one for 207 sqn.

You could ask at www.airwarfareforum.com.  You will have to register to post anything, but it may be worth it. The bunch over there knows an awful lot about aircraft.

a fast aeroplane to fly,
and something to shoot at?"

Gary, there is a 207 Sqn RAF Association that may be able to help:
http://www.207squadron.rafinfo.org.uk/

There's also the RAF info website, these guys are very helpful:
http://www.rafinfo.org.uk/

The more information you can give them the better, gather as much as you can before contacting them.

RAFweb is a good place too look too.  Fair bit of info here, stations, personnel, aircraft & a few profiles, but needs digging through.

It seems 207 Sqaudron operated from Spilsby in Lincolnshire from October 1943:

The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby is a museum, well known for the Lancaster 'Just Jane' which is kept in taxiable condition.  They helped my Grandma find info on her brother who had served at the station & was killed in action over France.  If they don't have info on 207 Sqn, they'll probably be able to tell you has.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A quick search on the UK Public Records Office shows the AIR 50/232 series at Kew has the 207 Sqn records from WW2.

His decorations and medals should have his name, rank and and service number on it from which you can obtain his service record
