Looks like something any whiffer worth their salt could bash from a Schturmgeschutz (gesundheit) assault tank destroyer.

Actually, that was my first thought when I saw it too. I thought it could be concocted from some Hetzer and Tiger bits, but when I looked deeper into the E-25, I discovered that it was quite a bit larger than the Hetzer, and the road wheels are even larger than those of the Panther and Tiger.
In the end I bought the Pegasus kit(s) and employed most of the improvements from JCC's article, but one of mine got a Jagdpanther mantlet and an 88mm 'upgrade'.  ^_^

It's got a great shape - fits the flavor of anything from StuG/StuH, Hetzer or Jagdpanther, to the postwar Jagdpanzer Kanone/Rakete.

QuoteSame old problem Nev, the Armour manufacturer's prefer to do German Armour in its every variety and redo their back catalogue than do the Allied stuff that actually won the war.

However things are starting to improve, Bronco have done rather well with their Comet tank and are following it up with both the Staghound and Humber armoured carswhich are also being done by Italeri and a Czech producer respectively !!!. Tamiya has done the Crusader in 1/48, which is new as not in their 1/35 line up (except as Italeri re-box).

Maybe next year we'll get a British Black Prince or Centurion A41 as counterpoint to these German projects

Oh yeah, its definately improving as other manufacturers step forward to fill the gaps that Dragon refuse to fill.  Even Tamiya, realising that they can't compete with Dragon on 1/35 Nazi stuff are starting to produce other subjects - their Char B1, and now this obscure French infantry carrier thing.  And even when Dragon do produce allied stuff, just try finding it!  Still haven't seen their Sherman III anywhere but Hannants - no wonder they complain it doesn't sell!

There was a survey on Armorama a few days ago, did you know that 6.5% of all kits ever produced in 1/35 are of Panzer IV's?  5.5% are Tiger I's.

It is gratifying though to finally see other manufacturers, in all subjects and scales, realising that things without swastikas on them will still sell.  Jen said on Britmodeller that on her trip to Trumpeter in China she was told that their best selling kits are the Fleet Air Arm ones, far outstripping their own expectations.

Whats this then Nev ?

And yes FAA stuff is proving suprisingly popular  :)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

JC Carbonel

The Renault UE is not that obscure on our side of the Channel ...it's somrthing like our "Carrier" and got much use from Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe which must appeal to Tamiya more than its original French and Polish use ....

The 88 gun and mantlet considerably improve the design !!!

Thanks JC - I've always liked the UE myself,  look good posed along side a British Mk VI or some polish cavalry

My apologies JC - I didn't mean to be rude when I said "obscure", I had just never heard of it before.  Good on Tamiya I say, hope it sells (the Char B1 seems to have done well, seen quite a few made up)
