Seen recently at RAF Valley, the newest addition to the fighter strike force, 'The Firebolt'. Named by the secretary to the PM, one Kingsley Shacklebolt saying that it was as fast and easy to manouvre as a "Firebolt", well the name took hold!

Model : 1/144 B-58
Company : Hobbycraft
Modifications : Glued the wing out from the join/wing to fuselage. Filled in between and bogged. Canopy is half of a drop tank, and it now has twin tailpipes.
Camoflage : 'Snake Skin'

I like it But the aircraft seems a lil rough on the leading edges almost as if the paint was a tad "Chunky" I sometimes get that when I use Acrylics for my paintjob Is that what you used?

Innovative, Glenn!!!!
Superfighter!!!!
I value your daring approach!!!
I suggest a little sanding to reshape the leading edges. And some putty blending.
The paint scheme is something I have not achieved to date, I like it very much, despite of the thick appearance of the paint layers.

Can you shed some light on how to do that scheme?

And, please. More pics!!!!

Awesome concept!!!!

I'm with Rafa on this. A great idea, but the paint really needs some rubbing down with very fine wet 'n dry and lots of water.

very cool ! You are always coming up with something odd and at the same time, believable...that's talent.

Yea, sorry about the finish...I just couldn't settle on the camo. The colours to finish it were....Overall : AV acrylic (971) Green Grey/ Thick snake: (851) Golden Olive/ and Humbrol Dk Green. No Dk Green to the undersurfaces. But yes, I should have smoothed down the finish!

Don't be sorry, Glenn, It's a extraordinary concept and model. I get the same results whenever the paints want to act up on me. I really appreciate the inventive, imagination, and craftsmanship you put on everyone of your models, and specially your kindness to share your fantasy with us.

As I said before, I have not been able to come up with a camo scheme of the type you depicted, so every bit of data I see in your posts and others' is a big help.

I love it!!!

Hey Glenn,

Any chance we could get top and bottom views of the scheme?

Oh, cool!  I like the anti-armour loadout on it.  Where'd you get all the Hellfires/Brimstones?
