NARSES2

Well my guess for the first one is a Pak 38 or 40 mounted on a Pz III chasis

As for the second ??? Almost looks like a Stuart's running gear with again a Pak 38/40 mounted atop a superstructure ? Hull/Chassis could be French ? The Germans did improvise some Pak 40's mounted on captured French armoured tractors during the siege of La Rochelle (theres a picture in "he Encyclopedia of German Tanks")

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The buildings in the second photo don't look typically Dutch (we use brick rather than stone).

I think you'll find that with that number of road wheels and the rear hull on the first picture that is a panzer IV chassis and that the gun is far to small to be a 88mm, could be a 50mm.
From the shape of the front hull casting and the narrow tracks on the second picture it looks like a M5 lower chassis also the upper hull looks about the right height too but with an extention at the front but there seems to be an opening, front lower left which would be about right for the driver on a M3.

To me the last pic looks as if it is Sherman hulls with extra beefed up armor.

Radish

Pak 50mm on a Panzer IV, and the other? I've contacted some knowledgeable "chaps" who might help, but I can't see them being M3s or Shermans.....however, the Germans were very good at using other people's stuff, so we'll see what others contribute.

The PAK43 was 75mm not 88mm.

Absolutely right, Wooksta.
I've consulted John Tapsell and he says it's a Panzer I rebuilt with a strange upper hull, etc.

Hmmm, you sure it isn't a tank. You know, them things wot got a gun on a bulldozer type set of wheels?

Perhas the last one is one of them Bycycle dummy tanks, used during parades!

QuoteI'd hazard a guess at an 88mm PaK 43 on top a StuG III chassis for the first pic, but the second one has got me stumped.  They look like a Panzer I chassis with a new top and then a turret atop that.

Wonder where that was taken?  Holland or Belgium perhaps?
Those 4 story buildings are typically German. Stemming from a 17th century prohibition on more than 4 floors from the Lutheran church to ensure the church was always the tallest building in town.

hi all
the PzKpfw.IV with the 5cm pak 38 is from the first year of the ostfront...winter 41/42....the PzKpfwI with this "thing" is propably from a training division converted to a "stuart" and after some time converted again to a flamethrower vehicle. it is in a east prussian city....which is not known...  :(
Im interesting in such improvisations after some peoples sayed years ago germany has no needs to improvise any type of vehicle....hmhmm....
some guys here are stil thinking in the deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep forest near they homes is the german army awaiting the last battle....last or lost ?

best regards
