Dropped into the LHS to pick up some styrene rod & strip and accidentally came home with a P-47D Razorback (something I failed to find at Expo) and an A-129 Mangusta.

Does that mean you'll have to take them back again?  :o
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

From evilbay, the Airfix 617 Squadron Dam Busters 60th Anniversary set - I wanted the 1/72 Lancaster B1 special, not sure what to do with the 1/48 Tonka

Do what I've done, get a Tamiya 1/48 Dambuster/Grand Slam Lancaster and a 1/72 Tonka (Mk.4 ? ) and do two 617 Sqn groups

Tamiya 1/35 Velociraptors Pack of Six

Quote
^ Sweet kit and much smaller than Jurassic Park/World led me to believe.

And they're even over scale for velociraptors which were actually really tiny, the Tamiya raptors are about twice as big.  The JP raptors are actually Deinonychus, it's got a blunter skull and is much larger, they named it Velociraptor as the name doesn't exactly roll of the tongue!

And to partner that set:

Tamiya 1/35 Mesozoic Creatures.  Nice set with an archaeopteryx, hypsilophodon, oviraptor, baby T-rex and parasaurolophus.  The odd one out is a crocodile, which looks a nile or salty rather than a pre-historic croc?

I'm currently messing about with Tamiya's Stegosaurus retrosaur, a much earlier kit and not very well sculpted but fun.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The evil kit finder general strikes again!

Following a tip off from Thorvic. One very Very new Bandi 1/72nd scale A wing fighter from Return of the Jedi.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Bet the kids are enjoying it almost as much as dad  ;D Maybe they copied the Stegosaurus from the one near me up by Crystal Palace lake. They don't look anything like we now think they look like. Do we actually know definitively ?

No, but modern knowledge of physiological indicators is much, much, much better than it was even as recently as 50-60 years ago. So, archeological evidence of muscle grooves & attachment points on fossilised bones, along with evidential markings in/on ball-&-socket joints, etc., can be interpreted much more accurately & gives us a much more likely picture.

The biggest questions remaining are about skin textures & colours, which it's highly unlikely we'll ever have much knowledge of.

Yes very much so which is why I can get a tad annoyed when people start describing the colours of these beasts ?

Thanks for the info on the other stuff  Archaeology I can get my brain around, paleontology ? No way  ;D It does seem to fascinate children of whatever generation however. My smaller ones (great nephews/nieces) love Crystal Palace Park when they are down
