And a Kinetic 1/48 F-16F has also been ordered from a Portuguese shop...

Arrived today! The shop from which i bought it, BigCatmodelismo.pt, didn't have in stock so i had to wait an extra week, but i don't mind as the price is the cheapest i could find and was also faster and safer as the carrier they work with is very good. They even call me before delivery as i might be at work and set another hour or place for delivery in hand.

Does that cover the 'Skyhook' scheme for G-VTOL Alastair?
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes it does Kit, complete with the cloud and hook logo. The code for the decal set is 72-118

I'd love to do a Skyhook Harrier, hooked onto a crane as they intended, but they never got as far as 'hooking up' for real.

I had to goggle "Skyhook harrier".
What a entertaining idea.  Trying to recover aircraft in heavy seas would have made winning the toy of your choice in a claw game look easy.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Apparently the crane guys reckoned it would work fine.

They hooked up a warship's gun stabilising system to the crane and it ensured the Skyhook end stayed in the same place relative to the ship's path through the sea. Then it was up to the Harrier pilot to fly underneath the clamps, hover relative to it and they'd grab him. John Farley tried it in G-VTOL, but over land, and it worked as far as they went.

Got back from work today to find packages, various....
From Colin at Freightdog;  Tallboy conversion kit for the Airfix Lancaster (will it fit the Revell one?)
Spitfire PR.XI conversion kit and a couple of decal sets.
An Revell Lancaster B.I/III (ebay win without box but complete, 5euro plus postage)
And from that well known Liverpudlian retailer of railway requisites, all Airfix new tools,
Gladiator, Harrier GR.3, Hurricane Mk.1, Vampire T.11 and 2x Typhoon IB. Strangely enough
All were Pre-owned and at around 4.50 to 5.00 ea. Except the Harrier that was 9.00.
Postage to Germany on the other hand......
Not quite as crippling as by Hannants, but still :banghead:

Regards
Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks
