With 6 engines, take-off can carry a maximum of fuel, then cruise with 5 stopped engines would give a round-the-world range (I guess) decades before the Rutan Voyager.

Having built a few Revell  1/72 Blohm and Voss BV-222  models in the past the 18 engine monster would be my next challenge  :banghead:

Curtiss Kingbird takes off from Atlanta. This model of the Kingbird, was finished 5 years ago, and only recently, I remembered it, and decided to shoot it.
Scratch built except for the main wheels and tailwheel.
Scale 1/48 and in Eastern Airlines markings.
