Me! Me! Me!

Can I take the dead Swift and the DH Hornets* please?  Is the F100 72nd ? Asking as I *think* it may work as a basis for the Supermarine 554.

That's a lot of dead or rather "resting" projects.  Almost as many as me...

*The fuselage w.tailplanes can provide spares for the more complete one and then the fuselage will be the basis for the Hornet/Vampire mash up I've been planning for some time.

Wooksta, the Hornets & Swift are yours. If its the one in the photo of the bottom of a box, the F-100 is a Super Mystere and is only 1/100 so no help I'm afraid.

63cpe, I had you in mind when I said I'd consider the near continent! We'll sort out the logistics via PM.

Oooh yes!  Will be in touch tomorrow.  Or sooner!!

EDIT: At the mo am interested in the Tempests/Typhoons but will narrow it down a bit.  Also the S-2 Tracker.
The F-104 and Tornado are tempting but not quite sure yet.

Will get back you tomorrow to confirm.

Hiya

Have looked more closely at the list and have decided against the F-104 (hadn’t previously spotted the scale), Tornado and Tracker.

Deffo 1/72 TempestS/Typhoons, will PM later.

The box fairy has paid a visit.

Having been forced to go through my various odds & sods boxes it occurs to me that I have a little too much in the way of ordnance. A medium-high single digit figure could net someone at least 50 missiles and bombs if there is any interest? Mostly 1/72. From Mk.82s & FAB-somethings, Sparrows, Firestreaks, Exocets, Shrikes, the odd Phoenix or Alamo, some 1/48 SRAMs and oh, a pair of whatever those dandy little 4-intake jobs that go under a Su-34 are.

Also is anyone after some 1/144 A380 engines? Possibly the wings too?

A little too serious for anything I'm likely to build. The A380 is getting Victor wings....one day....

World altitude record stuff perhaps?

The A380/Victor will hopefully be a big troop transporter. The Victor will become a Harridan that I did a profile of a while back.

An A380 winged Victor. Woah! That'll shift!

It turns out I only have the 2 that are currently on a F-89 & perhaps 2 others. Does it extend to Red Tops as I'm absolutely drowning in those?

What sort of wings are you after, as I have a plethora that isn't necessarily listed at present?

Argh - why does stuff like this always come along when cash is tight? :banghead:

Theres' a lot there to like, but I'm going to be restrained and only ask if I can baggsy the 1/200th Vulcan please? I have about three Vulcan ideas that'd be better in small scale, but only one in the stash.

I'll drop you a PM.

Nice one
I am after a pair of long wings to fit on to a cf100 in 1/72nd scale, U2 kits are sparse and a bit expensive to  sacrifice  for the build, and I  am apprehensive about  making a pair from laminated plastic sheet.  I need to measure the  wing roots on the kit and how long the original wings are.
Cheers

I'm afraid I've recently lost a pair of U-2 wings...

Might I suggest E-2 Hawkeye wings? The chord isn't far off a CF-100 ( slightly larger) & they are pretty high aspect ratio. I have a pair in stock as it were & you could always shorten them slightly to match the CF-100's chord. I can take some photos to show what I mean.

Another option for high aspect ratio wings might be the 1/32 Revell  ask21 or LS8 glider Planes. Thiose are stille available for fools money and Hove you really long Wings. The ask 21 's chord is bigger than the LS8's. If you want me to gauge them, pm me...i got both and u-2 Wings.

I did look into giving a Cannuck U-2 wings but I feel that they are a little undersized for the broad shouldered CF-100. My one is getting F-89H wings with the big pods but seeing that picture is giving me ideas. Damnit I'm meant to be downsizing!!!

It certainly is Kit,
I bought 2 cf-100 's  of Howard of Effingham(Trevor) and one  will be an RAF  PR-100 and the other one  will get a pair of thin Delta wings  and be a sort of  derivative of the  thin wing Javelin.

There was a swept version of the CF100 drawn up, but was abandoned as Avro moved towards the Arrow.

Yes there is. I've recently exported to the US & Oz. It is slow going out there but not as bad as I thought. The restriction was mainly due to immediately before posting this thread I had a bad experience with someone from Poland.

I don't know how economic it would be for you however but I will do my best!

Quite taken by the ungainly straight wing beer keg, and is that a Banshee?

It is a Banshee, I found another one (sorry to mess you about with that). By the end of the month I should have everything I have "found" in the garage listed up. Most of it has been in storage for 3 years and moved about 300+ miles in the last decade! I could have some 200 models to go (that's an estimate at this stage).

As major found out I vacillate on whether I want some things to go or not! For example, when I unearthed my Pe-8 yesterday, my first thought was: Hell no! That's staying! The 787 was on ebay in 5 minutes.

I think what I'll do in the week is make a master list of what's going and put it on page one, then do piccies on demand or Flickr may start throwing utensils at me. Several things are on ebay but the pace of departures is a little insipid for my tastes.

Major, I'll do you a special promotion at the end of the month since you are a repeat customer!

ETA: Just had a quick look at my list of models. 187 to go!

2 of those I know the location of but I haven't seen the Laird Solution in years so I would have to have a look.

Ray, the Banshee and the Fury are both currently listed over on ebay but neither currently have watchers and I will not relist them should they not sell this time around.

I do have (the old) one but it is a bit of a wreck as I built it when I was young, dumb and didn't know what PSR was. The landing gear is probably one wheel in the grave too. I did it as a 16Sqn Saints display bird in all-over black. I don't know if I want to part with it yet but if I do, you have 1st dibs if that means anything?

Cheers Matt, I  would have been interested in it if it was 1/72nd scale, as it  could have been  mixed with some Shackleton  bits.

Sounds fair enough.  Landing gear wouldn't be a problem and I enjoy bringing wrecks back to life:

This is 'Fab Five Freddy', part of him was the first Heller Spitfire 16 I ever did, with various other bits and bobs from the spares box.

Hi Chris, I do have a 1/72 one but we have plans for it mwuhaha! Ahem.

Lee, the likes of Freddy is why I don't post any of my "completed" builds. I have a Heller 16 somewhere and it don't look like that!

Bugger, what is the airliner, the one with the loose engines, i am thinking of  attacking that and scaleramaing it in to something  in 1/72nd scale  and with a different  cockpit  on it. Is there landing gear etc with it also?

No, no landing gear on that one. I tend to build my birds gear up and frankly, discard the gear. A life choice for which I have been repeatedly lectured on by pretty much the entire population of ebay.

You wouldn't believe it but sometimes the landing gear retracts!

Apologies but I have no great love and more than a few choice words for the bringers of unsolicited critiques!

Aaaahhheeerrrrr....If I recall correctly, engines lobbed off & various bits cast to the six & a half winds but gatherable. NC-123 components snaffled for another project. Can't guarantee anything like complete - hence the spares notation.

Well, if you happen to have any turboprop engines to spare, that's been a planned project of mine, lol!

I might have a couple of T56s (or 501s if you prefer) off of an Electra.
