Why am I always the first one to post something in this kind of section...? Well, nevertheless, here's my interpretation of the GB theme - I present to you the Rostov Tilt Rotor Aircraft Company РТАК-30 (NATO ASCC code “Hemlock”); 3rd prototype "33 Yellow" during state acceptance trials; Zhukovsky (Moscow Oblast), 1987 in 1:72.

You're the fastest builder Thomas, simples. ;D ;)

"AH-1 Super Cobra MACRO MACHINE" - U.S. Marines
This is a simple scheme swap. I built the Italeri kit OOB and just painted it differently. What makes this one kind of neat, however, is that I "flipped the script." Instead of modelling something larger, I modelled something smaller. In this case, it's an old Micro-Machines toy helicopter. It was one of my favorites as a child because I thought the paint was neat.

Vectored Thrust C-130, by Sandiego89
United States Marine Corps VC-130H at Cherry Point, North Carolina 1978
"Sweet 6" pictured at her home base of Cherry Point. The VC-130's had been primary used to support AV-8A operations at austere bases, much like her RAF counterparts supporting Gr1 and Gr3 operations in Germany. "Sweet 6" was to later gain her place in history during operation Eagle Claw to rescue the American Hostages from the embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
The kit: 1/72 Airfix. Self casted resin Pegasus engines (x4).

I hope this qualifies:
A-90-300 Etihad Airways
(http://www.airwar1946.nl/whif/images/A-90-200-1.JPG)
When Etihad commenced operations in 2003 it searched for aircraft for both the longer as the shorter routes. For destinations in the Gulf the choice was made for the Alexeyev A-90-300.
This was a modernized development of the A-90 which first flew in 1975. This Russian Ekranoplane or ground effect aircraft had a range of 2000km with a cruising speed of 400km/h. Etihad followed the example of Emirates which had been using the larger Alexeyev KM since 1995.
The A-90-300 was used for routed from Abu Dhabi to the Gulf states but also to cities like Karachi.
The A-90-300 could carry 216 passengers.

I'm sure you've all lost sight of this full length GB while the One Week GB is going on, but at LAST we have a poll setup for the Unconventional Means Flying Machine GB. ;D
You've 14 days to vote and only one vote each this time as there's only nine entrants.
Results will only be visible AFTER you've voted and you can't change your vote, so off you go.

Perhaps add a "now with voting" to the title or something like that? Easy to miss.
Great job comrades! and a bow to the moderators and organizers- well done!
-
Wot? Like ONE VOTE? :o
That's impossible! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
EDIT: Alright, not "impossible" but, absolutely, EXTREMELY painful!
Three votes = easy
Two votes = bearable
One vote = the moderator is an unbridled sadist!

Good idea I'll do it now

Hehehehe, you twigged it. ;D
-
Kind of hard to vote on this one. As usual, I'm pretty amazed at the stuff but this time around it just seems like we had some really top notch buildds going on.
-
As usual, really tough to pick one. All of these are so very good!

Same here!!! Many favorites and IMHO excellent pieces. Just placing a SINGLE vote is a VERY tough choice. But so are the rules...
-
And it's a dead heat at the moment, amazing. ;)

Yup, two of my three favourites ... & the third is catching up!
-
Oops! :banghead:
I forgot that the extension ran out yesterday, so sorry.
And the winner is (by only ONE vote!) Zenrat's Saucy Sue Flying Dinghy!
Well done Fred, and well done Dave Sandiego89 for your vectored thrust C-130, only a single vote behind. ;D
-
Arrrrrrrrr, shiver me timbers. Extra rum rations all round.
I'll have me cabin boy splice the mainbrace.
Well done everyone who entered and thanks to the mods.
-
Nicel done!

Errrm, no I wasn't. Not for this one. It was you and Chris. I modded the Competition GB with Jon.
-
Ah, OK.
I got that round my neck as well as the Poll. :banghead: :banghead:
-
Well done, Fred! (My 2nd choice)
Also to Dave! (For whom I voted - but not before considerable gnashing of teeth as I reduced 3 to 2 to 1)
And, despite falling behind a bit, to Dizzy! (Who was the 3rd of the 3 that I started with).
And a big WELL DONE to everyone who participated because there wasn't a single poor build to be seen & it all came down to personal preferences in the end!
One vote! One measley little vote! Nasty, vicious, 'orrible, sadistic moderator!

Hehehehehehehehehe.....................
-
My glorious contraption netted zero votes because I only had one to spare and wasn't about to waste it on my own stuff. ;D ;D ;D Get a rope!!!! ;D
Admittedly, while I think it's fantastic, it was a really low effort build.
-
Congratulations to the winner and to all the contestants, and a deserved thank you to the mods.
-
Congratulations Zenrat! Well done.
The single vote was indeed excruciating.
-
Yeah, yeah, I get the message. :banghead: :banghead:
I promise I WON'T do the 'single vote' thing ever again, sorry.
-

No worries Kit it was likely appropriate given the lowish number of entries, my comment is as more that it was really tough to decide, as I wanted to tip my hat to several builds.
Thanks to all on the positive comments on my monster C-130, it was a fun build and glad it was well received.
-
Congratulations to all and especially to Zenrat!
A job well done by all. It really was hard to choose. With two or more votes it still would have been difficult to choose.
Hey at least you guys had entries! I never seem to get my occasional builds done in time........

Well done sir! Magnificently and appropriately barmpot....

Me on the other hand...
Thanks for all the nice words everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed this build. It was nice to do something different.

Well done to every one who took part, especially our winner and thanks to Kit for doing the Moderating
