Rheged's tale "The Gloster Javelin  FAW21. The Triton".
The F(AW)21 Gloster Javelin Triton was  almost totally an accidental development. Following the adoption of a dispersal policy for V bombers, the Ministry of Defence began an assessment of the possible dispersal of fighter aircraft. As a point defence interceptor, the English Electric Lightning  then under development was not considered an appropriate subject for this policy but the Gloster Javelin, the early marks of which were already coming into service, was clearly a suitable candidate...

May I state that the three vote limit is akin to Robert Mugabe's Opposition Re-education Program!

(I really need another eight!)

Goodness, that taxes the brain cells somewhat.

SO many good builds to chose from, this one really brought out the creativity here.

Highest quality level. Difficult choice. I could vote for 6 at least.

With 23 votes there are 3 pulling away from the pack with one clear leader.
Plenty of time to get your cash or kit bribes to me for this to change through.
Vote away everyone.

Eleven hours to go.  VOTE VOTE VOTE!
Only 4 votes separates first and joint second (or is it joint third if its a tie?).

Ouch! I risked forgetting to vote! Too much procrastination.  :banghead:
Congratulations for the poll with photos, it's the first I have seen.

Congratulations for the poll with photos, it's the first I have seen.

Thanks Loupy.  Took a bit of doing.  I had to re-host one of the pics on my flickr page as the address as posted was too long for the available space in the poll and it took a couple of hours to cut and paste everything.
It is however something I have wanted to see done every time someone creates a poll on a web forum.

And we have a winner.

Congratulations to sandiego89 for his B52 Ficon.  It led from the first.

And to Dizzyfugu and TheChronicOne who came joint second with their Grumman G-79B/F9F-1 "JetCat" and McDonnell Douglas F-15N Eagle respectively.

Well done everyone.  It was a good Group Build.  I'm on record as being against having another Cold War one so soon after the last one but we all produced some great stuff and the flood of SEA Camo painted everything I expected never turned up.

Now, finish off your one week builds and sharpen your exactos ready for the RAF one hundredth.

Cheers and congratulations, Dave!!!

Thanks for the votes on the Sea Eagle, too, for those that did. I nearly wasn't even a participant. I keep asking where this year has gone!!!  It's going to be Christmas tomorrow!

Shouts to the staff crew, as well, thanks fellers.

Oh, wow! Congratulations to sandiego89 for this (literally) epic build - well deserved!

And further contragtulations to zenrat (with humble pride) for the shared second place.

So many great contributions, voting was hard! But it's good to see that we have, with 31 participants, a broad voting basis.

Thanks a lot for everyone who voted!
