Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the jury, his holiness the Pope, it`s now time for the What If Academy to present the 2014 Whiffie Awards.

(Applause rings out and then dies down…)

Thank you, thank you everyone. It`s been a long hard year in the world of What if modelling with many a modeller suffering the effects of PSR, Super Glue malfunctions and canopy’s misting up for no real good reason. But saying that, What If modellers around the world have persevered to create plastic masterpieces and it`s now time to honor those modellers.

So with no further ado, lets head to our first group of finalists and name some winners……

It`s been emotional…..

Thank you to all the entrants and to you at home who took the time to vote.

A very big well done to the winners and over the next couple of weeks the Academy will be sending out the winners certificates via the private email addresses listed on their profile. Please make sure you have an up to date email listed or by all means PM me, (tc2324), with a new/correct one.

Again, thank you for making this year’s awards a special event and we hope to see you all back next year for 2015.

Thanks a lot (once more - but it cannot be repeated often enough) for hosting the show and taking the burden of all the preparations, on- and offline!

Also, many thanks to everyone who voted and made this possible.

And, finally, many thanks for the votes for my works - I hoped for one Whiffy, but now I "ended up" with four! Wow!!!

(*runs out of the room, yelling and dancing*)

I feel honored (*gasp*), but also hope to keep up quality and inspiration level.

Salute!

Really great putting this all together- loved the categories and the organization, appreciate all the hard work!  Cared much more about this show than all the others (emmy's, tony's etc) combined!

Well, if anyone would have told me before tonight that I'd have been standing here holding a Whiffie I'd have said they were off their head, but that's the way life goes.

I'd like to thank all who voted for me, 'tc2324' himself for organising the whole shebbang (and well done him for that WONDERFUL Tornado, that model was 'mentioned in dispatches' at today's North Somerset Modeller's Show at Weston-super-Mare I might add) I'd like to thank my Mum, I'd like to have thanked my Dad but he's not with us any more, and Mrs PR_19 for putting up with my brainstorms. I'd also like to thank Hawker Siddeley Aviation for designing the aircraft that I modelled, Revell for screwing up the scale of their Snark so that I COULD model it, Dizzifugu for getting me a lifetime's supply of putty, Humbrol for making such colourful paints, my producer, director and agent....Oh no, wrong awards ceremony, sorry. And lastly to my Hat, without which I wouldn't not be the person I am.

[Exits stage left wiping something irritating from my eye]

Fantastic selection and fully deserved awards to the winners. My vote for the category of overall winner (if there was one) is Dizzyfugu's EMB320. Superb looking machine and would look totally believable in both the real world and a sci-fi film. Congrats to all .

Congratulations to the winners and to the runners up: it was particularly hard picking a winner in most categories this year, and if we'd had to score them, it would have been a photo-finish.

Thanks very much for all your efforts in putting this on tc2324!

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everbody that took the trouble to vote, especially thanks to TC2324 for all his efforts in organising this years Whiffies. I just can't believe I won one this year , the standards were so high, everyone deserved a whiffie.

Thanks Tony for a great Whiffies.  Once again, the Academy really thanks you for stepping up and taking over MC and other duties.  Also, you Tornado is fantastic so don't be embarrassed.

There were some really great builds this year though a few I really loved didn't make the final cut but those that did are well deserving.

And the award for the longest acceptance speech goes to... ;D

Congratulations to one and all.   Well done.

Thank you all for the nice words and I`m glad you enjoyed the show.

At the end of the day I`m just the guy who puts it all together and it`s actually the forum members who actually make the show what it is. So with that in mind, I`d like to thank you to all you for doing what you do.

Due to family commitments and the fact that I`m off to the 74 `Tiger` Sqn Annual Reunion Dinner this weekend with my `Tiger` collection of 1/48 models, I`m afraid it won`t be a few weeks to get the Winner certificates out to the winners. Sorry about that, but they are a coming.  ;D

Viewing the Whiffies nominees and winners is two-edged sword for me - I admire the workmanship, skill and sheer imagination of them all , and at the same time I hate them all because [in my mind] its far superior to my own efforts :banghead:

Ah, now I've got to the age where I know and can accept my limitations. I find them inspirational but I'm quite comfortable where I am with my modelling ability, or lack of it. Growing old disgracefully has its advantages sometimes

Well said that man!

EXACTLY how I feel at this stage in my life, I build what I want to build at my current level of capability and I'm not that fussed about 'pushing forward the frontiers of modelling'.

Hi all,

I`m now in the process of sending out the winners certificates. Some of you will already have been sent yours, others will get theirs over the next day or so and others have been PM`d as they do not have an email address within their profile.

I would be grateful if you could contact me asap with an email so that I can wrap up these awards.

Muchos Gracious.

My pleasure all and thanks to Dizzy for helping out.

I`m slowly but surely making my way through sending out the certificates with a number of winners still to get back to me with a relevent email address. I`m away for a few days now so I`ll send out the rest starting Monday.

Right, I think I can now confirm that I have sent out or at least contacted all the winners for an email for their certificates.

If I have missed anything or somethings not quite right, then please get in touch via PM.

Until next year, this is the Whiffie Academy saying goodbye and good luck.

I completely forgot about the Whiffies Awards Show. I was surprised to find that I had  been nominated for a build in two different categories. I am honored to be in such august company. I build for fun. I am happy to share my humble efforts. Congratulations to all winners and nominees. Well done to all! Pain and confusion to all rivet-counters!

Adios, Larry.

Best Ship

And the winner is…..,

sandiego89`s P6M SeaMaster, on a tender

The model of the P6M is truly beautiful!!!

While I have to finish my current projects first, I'd really like to build a 'P6MH' someday which would incorporate the improvements found in the B-52H into the P6M...
