Title: Late night modelling.....
Post by: Captain Canada on February 17, 2003, 11:01:37 AM
I blame John Molson and Hank Herb for most of my insanities....

I came up with that nonsense after spending the better part of an evening painting, modifying and re-decaling an old bird....only to set it up for a photoshoot and inadvertantly knock it 'flying' off the table ! Knocking off most of the mods, as well as the landing gear and tails !

Dagnabit !

Cheers !

Is that still legal up there ? Someone down here had finally had enough of OPP and CAF choppers buzing their houses all day long, that they filed a complaint...amd now, the gov't needs a search warrant to harass the innocent....bloody waste of taxpayers dollars anyway.  The QPP should grow some balls and go after the real problem...the Rock Machine et al !

Cheers ! :aa

I know that it sucks to boo your own team, but when you pay over a $100 to see a game, you want a good show, don't you?

Hey, they are paid over a million each, come on!  At least the Alouettes (those crappy birds that I'm sure are good when roasted) are paid less and they win something.

QuoteThey have nets at the end of the ice to stop the pucks, but it blocks the view and you can't see a d-a-m-n thing on the ice.  Grrrrrrrr! :(
What colour are the nets?  They have nets at the Sheffield Arena (home of the mighty Sheffield Steelers) but they're a silvery white and after about 5 seconds you don't even know they're there.  I think it was Philly changed from black to white netting cos the fans complained so much and they were much happier after that.

Paying $100 to watch a game of Hockey is outrageous tho!  When Mrs Nev and I went to watch the Canucks on honeymoon 2 years ago I think our tickets were about $40 each (upper tier, in the corner where I like to sit), which was OK for a one off, but I sure wouldn't want a 40 game season ticket at that price!  Tickets for the Steelers over here are 9 pounds which is reasonable, tho we are talking about a standard way below the NHL - most of the players are Canadian minor leagers.

We tied.....3-3. No points for me, but our line played even.

The good news is, we're garaunteed three more games !

Now, back to your normally programed snow shovelling.....the plows finally did  our street  while I was out......

au revoir !

Ach!  In die Luftwaffe, ve are already crazy inough not to need any of those ztuff, efen if it iz to enchoy!  You know ve are real crazy, ve fly dem Bf vone-oh-nein!

Don't you bring those near me, I'm about to enlist in the SQ Pot Patrol to fly the Bell 412 they got!  :G
Title: Late night modelling.....
Post by: Ollie on February 18, 2003, 07:49:20 AM
AFAIK, they are going after the bad guys, but they are still doing some patrol.  Man, it's sooooo obvious when you fly in the summer where the pot is in the corn fields.  It's not even subtle.  The worst part is that people protect those patches with booby traps and they killed a kid like 3 years ago.  A shotgun was rigged with fishing lines, the bastards!!! :(  :(

Anyways, a Bell 412 ride is always welcome in my book!

This is kinda cool, eh Ollie ? Our own personal thread !

That's what I was talking about, with the gangs...remember they killed that kid downtown a few years back ? that's just sick. They should have round up every single person wearing a ####'s or Rock jacket and shot them on spot !

Two years ago in St. Hubert, the 438 boys were giving rides to the Air Cadets ! As nice as it was to see all those smiling kids...I wished I was one of them ! I did get some nice photos, tho...

When we were kids, they had a day at camp Borden when you could get free helo rides. My bro got on the Kiowa, but I went Huey all the way !

Cheers

Hop aboard Lancer!

yeah, you can tell how crappy the home games are just by watching them on the tele....the fans sit on their hands all game, and the place is so quiet !

Besides that, the Montreal fans are terrible, like a bunch of spoiled brats ! You should never boo your own team...sure, every team stinks now and again, but they're out there trying !

Lark, nice Lark,
Lark,
I shall pluck you

I shall pluck your head
I shall pluck your head

Lark,
Lark,

...second verse, same as the first !

Speaking of Allouette, isn't that the H'inglish translation of that old French tune ? Not quite as catchy when translated, eh ?

As for overpaid hockey players, sure is true.  The old original six cities should come up with an alternate league...now that would be cool !

And in other hockey news...I had four shots on goal on Sunday, and one post.....that's as close as I've gotten to scoring all year ! Maybe if they gave me a million or two.... :TT
Title: Late night modelling.....
Post by: Captain Canada on February 20, 2003, 08:38:04 PM
Hey. I've only got one goal in my career as well...last year, but it was a beauty ! I do have four assists this year, tho.

Playoffs start for us on Sunday, and I'm potting one then ! Wish me luck !

Cheers,
     and 'Go Pro-Mart/ Dempsey's Go ' !

That's been the major complaint with the new netting this year....some jackass sold everybody black netting ! I've seen both, and the white is definately easier to see thru.....what colour is the h'ice, anyway ?

As for 9 pounds a ticket, that's about 26 CDN dollars, so that's pretty steep for a ticket as well ! We've got three levels of Junior hockey here in Sarnia, Junior A, or the OHL, is escellent hockey. All the world's up and comers play 'A' hockey in Canada and the US, the WHL, OHL and QMJHL. Tickets for that are only 10 bucks. The other two leagues, Junior B and C, are pretty good hockey too, and tickets are 5 bucks.

Don't forget to add beer and nachos and hot dogs and popcorn on top of that, tho !

We should get ST to add a  new discussion board here, for us hockey nuts ! Our first playoff game is tonite at 10:15.....wish me luck, boys ! I'll keep you posted !

Cheers,
Toadman, heading back outside to dig out of the snow !

Great idea Toad.  We've got...4?...5?  canadians on the board, plus me!

Good luck tonite Pomerleau!

Horrido Pomerleau for tonight!

As for snow, our little snow blower has been working overtime here, it's the #### Russian Front!  :-/

I'll start playing hockey next fall again...

My knee will be healed then!

We might get rid of the snow by tomorrow or wednesday.

I really miss that!

You got it right...

But the Gvt isn't that smart either : they have trouble growing pot for the sick people when they can seize all the stuff they want during summer.  Where's the logic in that?

Good thing you went Huey all the way!  If I ever get real rich (because you have to to have a copting copter), I'm buying a Huey, painting it yellow with SAR markings and buzz the St-Laurence River at 30' with all the doors removed!

Woo-hoo!

Yep, that's a personnal thread of us!

\"Intruder alert ! Intruder alert ! \"

Hehehe....looks like somebody caught us, Ollie !

And hey, you're okay with us, Lancer !

Have a good one !

And Ollie, ever see that one Fear Factor where they had to jump from the Huey ? They also had to climb from a moving boat onto theskid and then into the thing...now how cool would that be ?!

Cheers

Yup, never should have traded Hackett.....but then again, benching 'haven't won a game in seven' Theo would be a start......and then again-again, facing 50 shots a game and only letting in three isn't all that bad either !

And how about those Dead Wings ? Oh, I can't wait to watch the weight of that huge payroll sink in the first round......

Loved that OT goal by Van last night....made them 'old' Wings look pretty slow !

Cheers !

Ok, ok!!  I told the team that they would be transfered to the Eastern Front at first light Monday moring if they don't start winning (and not whinning) like they should.   That game was boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring like you have no ideas.  And the Bell Center sucks now.  They have nets at the end of the ice to stop the pucks, but it blocks the view and you can't see a d-a-m-n thing on the ice.  Grrrrrrrr! :(

And before, they used to play Redy to Rumble when the Habs jumped on the ice, now it's some stupid Techno music that sucks.  And they had a violin player before that was real good and he's gone.  Man, the only good thing is that the tickets were given to me.  No way i'll pay for such a lame evening!

I SAY NEIN! :pl  :ta

The thing is Toad, the $CDN is about as weak as superman after a kryptonite enema, so 9 quid ain't that much.  Tickets to a football game cost 20-30 quid for a premiership match, and you've no guarentee of seeing a good match.  Win or lose, the British superleague is always exciting.  Naff goalies, big ice, only 2 or 3 lines (can't afford any more players so players get tired and make more mistakes :) ) and NO TWO LINE PASS!!!!!! (stoopidest rule in hockey)

Hey Ollie,
Yup, I like LW. I also play right, and both sides on D. I played centre once this year, and I lost every draw ! Ouch....
We play our last game tomorrow night, the 'Battle of the Basement '! 7-vs-8, so, we're going for eight place !

Wish us luck !

Vive les canadiens ! Although, after the stinkin Sens choked tonite as well as dem 'abs...looks bleak.
