I know there are a few about, my favourite being that Operation Grandby one ( I think that was the one, or was it Desert Storm ? ) Anyway, can you guys who have built them with pylons post pics again, or direct me to the pics. I'd like to keep mine common, and what a/cs pylons did you use ?

There are suposed to be some sets due out (come on joe remove the digit) based on the offical drawings for the pylons and other hang ons.
quite a few of the resin ones done, have pylons off various other types, the hasa Mig 25 has been a main source for our Thorvic for the inboard pylons if that any help.
I was wondering the other, might not the TSR 2 have sprouted overwing sidewinder pylons in the mid 1980's like the Jaguar did when the RAF was bust hanging sidewinders off almost everything it flew? Even the Nimrod acquired sidewinders thanks to the Falklands and the TSR 2 would have had to keep its four underwing stations clear for A2G weapons.
may be. My first resin kit had the winder rails mounted on the sides of the inbord pyplons, just like the Tornado F-3's but over wing rails are posible as well i surpose.
I'll be doing overwing Winder pylons on mine, but I'd love to know about the underwing mountings. I don't want mine to be different to the "official" ones. Just cos its Kiwi doesn't mean I want it completely "wrong". I'd love for them to fit in.
I seem to remember reading that the anhedralled wingtips were not strong enough to mount a Sidewinder shoe. If that is the case, what about a pylon where the wingtip joins the wing?

Cool, thanks again Lee. BTW the red wing got itself a nice big crack from leading edge back to fuse mounting, what's the best way to fix that?

Erm a point on the Pylons, Joe did have them on his website for a while, but these have been removed as they will likely be included in his book.
As for the Pylons themselves in the drawings there are different pylons for different loads comprising various shapes and sizes. These designs were tested on the mock up and produced for testing on XR220.
Now by the time the TSR2 enterened operational service in the early 1970's would they have kept with the specialised pylons or devised a generic unviveral Pylon and use adapter brackets for the differening loads ?
Its just a point but as all development on the TSR2 stopped in 1965, can such drawings be taken as gospel for portraying operational aircraft or like most modern aircraft the designes would be tweaked and adapted to reflect the results of the flight test program and the updates to the operational requirements.
