Title: If I was a pilot,
Post by: Glenn on October 31, 2005, 11:41:33 PM
This aircraft was unknown to me until I saw the movie, "The Great Escape". Since then, I've always loved it's design. This is the 1/72 Huma kit in it's pre-war markings. The scene is the French coast, (but it could be anywhere)
I've also the 1/48 MPM (?) model, unmade.
As I said, if I could fly, and had the money, this is what I'd fly.

I had a friend who had one many years ago and loved it, had it painted up in WW@ Luftwaffe colors too.  He got in a spot of bother though because he had the propane guns installed to make neat sound effects at air shows.  One day enroute to an airshow in Florida he flew down the beach at about 100' making nice loud machine gun noises.  Turn out the folks on the beach below were from a tour group of primarilly Jewish retirees!   :o

Anyhoo...beautiful pic there!
