A couple of months ago, there was a bit on aircraft with different engines, and the Calquin was mentioned. At that point, this much of it had been constructed, but since have the wings on. I'd seen it in an old aircraft book, (1950's) and was stoked that it came with plans.
I used an Airfix 1/72 Mosquito NF.XIX kit, and a sharp saw. The fuselage is about 3' shorter than the Mozzie, and thicker as well. Cut the tail off, (photo) and glued it from inside. The strips on top and under are to add the new thicker shape, and the pencil lines on the nose are to cut it down also.
It should make an interesting model when finished, then I'll have to work out the colour scheme and decals.

Do you have a sketch of the intended final concept?
Quotethe Calquin was mentioned
Is the Calquin the Argentino Mosquito?
Anyway, the work seems well started, I imagine the amount of putty required to restore smooth lines... more than ever, you are a great scratch-builder, dear...
There are pictures at http://www.aeroespacio.com.ar/538/site/calquin.htm (http://www.aeroespacio.com.ar/538/site/calquin.htm) and elsewhere with Google. There will be hard work in scratch-building...
This is how I finished her off........Wings on, and tail bogged and sanded (with the slots for the tailplanes and tail) and the nose cut down, and the back of the cockpit closed off. The control surfaces are only marked in pensil.
