Title: Captain's Post War Lancasters
Post by: Captain Canada on October 06, 2023, 02:56:52 PM
Who doesn't love a good Lanc ? That's right, nobody ! I'm going to use this thread for my planned builds. I'm starting small with the 144th scale version, and will probably keep the first one simple.

Dragonfly Lanc I called the first drawing. Might use some Vulcan parts.

This is one I'd like to ultimately do, in 72nd scale. It will be in RCN 2 grey

This one will also be in 72nd scale, using parts from a Neptune kit.

This is a Tamiya 48th scale one I built years ago, using the Dambuster kit. I had plans of adding a large missile underneath, but never did. I think this one is in the bin now.

Started working on this one last night. Cut the nose off to lengthen it. Was going to make a plug out of wood, but I think I'll just use styrene and filler. Might keep her in Merlin engines, or not lol

I shall be watching this with interest, as when I move into my own place, I want to build my bigger models, and a post war upgrade Lancaster will be on the cards. Very nice so far Captain.

That was a radiation source tool we use to load sources into tools at work. Jammed her up the back side and stuck it in the roof rack of my 1997 Dodge minivan to get that 'flying' look lol

Cheers guys. I dug through the spares box abs found some tip tanks. They are those oval type F-86 drop tanks. A little big but it's a start. I cut the wing tips square as well.

I wish ! I usually just use modified bombs or drop tanks.
