Not sure if I've ever talked about it here, but I've been collecting/ working on pieces for a 200 scale Korean War diorama. What started out as a Spruce Goose in US Navy service unloading US Army assets for a surprise assault has turned into an ever expanding never-ending project, as everything I touch seems to be. More on that later. To combat this never ending project, I figured I'd add even more to it by way of the OWB. If I can finish this in one week maybe it will spur me on !

Beware those teeny-tiny prop blades, they break off if you sneeze.
So this will be used to move the entire Corps around as one group?? ;D
Even in 1/200 scale that's a BIG aeroplane! :o
"Largest wooden aircraft ever built"
That's begging to be finished in NMF.
It is an easy kit, low parts count, but the Rat is correct, very delicate props and shafts.

Hehehe, a special 'JMN exploding' scheme.
Like putting lots of rivets on a Mosquito.

Or building a rusty Corvette.

Yes I quite agree with you Kit, this is the one I've built, it's almost as big as my 1/48 Lancaster

I almost bought moulds to make 1/72 scale vacuform kits of it, only the deal fell though. Then Execuform announced they were making vacuform HK-1 kits in 1/72 and I nearly bought a couple, my plan was to do one in overall glossy sea blue and the other I was going to change the engines to Northrop/Hendy XT37 turboprops.

I'm assuming "motor vehicle" as ALL maritime corvettes were rusty within a couple of weeks of completion.........did the car roll as much as the average naval corvette did? Late godfather told me flower class would roll on a damp flannel.
It's Corvette with an upper case 'C', so it is a car, yes. ;D
Actually the Corvette was a pretty good handling car, despite its transverse leaf rear suspension. That's unlike its GM stablemate, the Corvair, which had a similar rear spring, but allied with swing axles! Disaster! :banghead:
This makes me thing we should have a "Fininsh It Wrong" GB with NMF Mossies, rusty 'Vettes and fiberglass yachts, plywood decalled Mustangs, etc. :o
I'm all for that, oh yes. ;D
A long while ago I started building a metal B-2, but the basic kit is so soul destroying I never got as far as the tenth PSR session.......:(
Are you going to hinge the nose in a similar fashion like the Convair Tradewind or have a pair of camshell doors for off loading the troops and machinery?

When I toured the Spruce Goose decades ago in Long Beach, I recall a very nice nose section display with side-opening bow doors (like a Gigant) and ramp like the production version of the Hercules was intended to have. Kinda ruined the elegant lines, but was interesting.
Had the daughters grad and the boys birthday party this weekend. Other than opening the box and cleaning up the parts I've got nothing done as yet. Hope to change that this evening !
Another day of inactivity ! But I'm sitting down now to start. If Nick can do a bucc in a day surely I can glue a few bits together before Saturday !

Dont be too hard on yourself. It took me 2 and a half.
Lol ! Thanks 🍻 Making my mods for a turbo prop. Shaved off the cooling flaps from the radials and drilled out a trough for the pipe.
