The F/A-18E ARDU colour scheme was inspired by the real world F-111 ARDU. the white belly with orange markings and stencils is a refreshing sight in the sea of grey jets.

The U.S Navy Sundowner squadron is one of my favourite. I'd imagine how it would look like if it hadn't been disbanded. The vertical tail decals were adapted from the similar scale F-14 decal.

Beautiful! Love seeing a "gray jet" in something other than gray.
Two exceptionally nice builds!
I LOVE the ARDU one, that looks fanta-stic!
Great work
The ARDU Hornet is pretty.
Anyone done a jet Hornet in WW2 USN three blues?

Yeah, that WOULD look good!
One of THE best schemes ever to my eyes, I even painted our dining room in that scheme in the first house I ever owned. ;D

Hmmm, not quite.
The colours don't fade into each other like the Hellcats and Corsairs did.
And my dining room too........... ;D

Yup, that comes into my mind as well ;D
First one is better than the second but it really needs oil leaks and exhaust stains.
Could be worse. Could be like this which is either really wrong or someone has adjusted the picture WAY too much.

And the fins on both of them are just plain wrong!

Sadly, I've seen multiple pictures, both online and in warbird magazines, and this light shading is not uncommon on restored warbirds, *shudders*. I love whiffs, but in my humble opinion, every warbird should be restored and painted as close to its original scheme as humanly possible, NOT done up in what someone thinks looks nice/pretty... To me, it's an insult to the men and women who gave their lives for their country.
