Title: Wolfgangs Bratty Wagon
Post by: Nick on April 17, 2019, 03:36:47 PM
I've heard stories of Wolfgang, a German with a mobile burger van who would turn up regularly at the Soltau training ranges whenever the troops were on exercise. Without fail. Some observed that if he wasn't an East German spy, he should have been.

I didn't know there was a kit out there of his van! https://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=5307

The AAFES catering trucks (aka roach coaches) were the highlight of my post-basic training at Lackland and Ft Dix in the very early 90s.

The Korean snack carts were pretty good at appearing in the darndest places to sell sodas and moon pies.

A sad update for those who served in the British Army.

Wolfgang Meier passed away on 26th February 2025.

But somebody has created a modern version of his Bratty Wagon using an armoured Boxer.
There's also a good video about his antics -  https://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/2022/01/wolfgangs-bratty-boxer/
