What started as a "what am I going to do with this Monogram 1/48 AV-8B with a missing canopy?" idea to make a supersonic Harrier, has turned into a full blown P.1154 scratchbuild!
Initially I planned to use all of the AV-8B kit, just move and modify things, but it wasn't that simple, so a new plan was needed.
A search through the spares turned up a pair of Phantom intakes.
Then a Tornado main fuselage, which I narrowed

And added nozzle ports

My next problem was the lack of canopy. Nothing I had in the spares would fit, and tbh, with everything else, the -8B's nose just wasn't doing it for me. So, back to the spares box, and out with a TSR2 cockpit area....
While I was there, I found an old pair of Sea Harrier wings, which looked better than the big 8B wing....
So, this is where I'm at.

All in 1/48, I take it?
Looks like MAJOR plastic engineering going on there. :o
That's a real Frankenstein creation - bits from everywhere.

This is kitbashing! ;D
The nose section has been attached, and I've sanded and polished the TSR2 canopy, so it is clear and the windscreen frames have been removed.

Started applying Milliput over the fuselage to level it all up. Not used this medium for years, so it's a learning curve.

Best regards,

Frighteningly amazing work. And I think this is the point where many of us say "Nuts to this, I'm taking up knitting."
