The little known Supermarine Swift T8 was a two seat trainer version of the Swft F4, they were used for conversion and continuity training by units equipped with the Swift fighter and reconnaissance aircraft. Popularly know as the "Tadpole" in RAF service , the accidental application of "area rule" acctually gave these aircraft a slightly better performance than the single seat Swifts and made them very popular with squadrons as hacks or communication aircraft.

Magic!
That works very well indeed, specially in the silver/yellow scheme.
Now that is absolutely brilliant.
I love it to bits.
Not an idea I would have come up with, but I have to say fantastic.
Who would have thought of doing a two seat Swift, especialy a side by side..

Now I like that. It looks so right ;D
WOW! Got any build pictures?
Excellent. What a great idea!

I've had a Swift 2-seater in mind for a while, but tandem.
Cracker!
I hovered over the thread title and wondered 'has he done tandem or side-by-side' and was delighted when I discovered!
Maybe you've finally found a use for all those Swift fighter airframes that went straight into storage...?
Another interesting project
This is nice - even though the front end (still) looks very Hunter-ish and the nose looks (to me ) a bit long? Love the paint scheme, so colorful!
A brace of Super Swifts
Very smart - and it looks so right!
Except it's not a Swift he's used as a basis - it's a Project X/Whirlybird Supermarine Type 545.
In actual fact it's a Rareplanes Swift FR5 with a Matchbox Hunter nose.
Andrew
Very cool! I've earmarked this combo, I also have a spare Matchbox Hunter trainer nose (and an Xtrakit Swift, but it's already earmarked for "something else").

Don't worry Andrew, it's an exceptional build
