Hi everyone,
Though I would give you the heads up on what I will have at SMW this year. No pictures yet, just waiting for masters to arrive later this week, then it is all systems go. This year I will have the BAC Lightning VG conversion in 1/72, based on the Airfix F6 kit, set will include new wings, stores and main undercarriage for the proposed swing wing version. With a bit of work set should also fit on a Sword F1/3/T4/5 kit, but we based it on the Airfix kit as its the easiest to build and most readliy available. Price not confirmed, but will hopefully be around £15.
I will have a couple of other small sets, plus new stocks of my Swift F1/2-4 and F7 conversions, just waiting on decals from Fantasy Printshop. For anyone who bought the sets when first released in April, there will be a corrected decal sheet with the new batch, fixing an issue with slightly undersize roundels and serials, I am happy to supply replacements to those who bought the original release.
More details to follow soon. Thanks!
Colin
Hi Colin
Can i reserve a pair of the Lightning VG sets
Geoff
Certainly Geoff, your ongoing support is appreciated!
Colin
Any chance that you will do a Boulton Paul "D" type turret for use on the new Revell Halifax Colin?
Gondor
One of the Swift F7s plus a VG Lightning for me, please, Colin?
Hi Colin, can I reserve a Lightning VG set as well please?
Cheers!

VG Lightning conversion ?
Yep: BAC looked at it for a naval version in the 1960s. The pivot point would have been ouboard of the u/c mountings, like on an Su-17.
Just Googled and...WOW!! Fantastic looking plane. Will it be a two-seater or just one?

From what Colin's said it looks like he's designed it to fit the Airfix F.6 single seater, but it should be adaptable to the Sword T.4/T.5.

Skim-reading....bad habit of mine :banghead:. Some models on Google with two seats look really nice.
VG Lightning and sets of your Swift Conversions for me please Colin (mmm, white 'nuclear flash' early Swift and a black braking trials F.7) :)
cheers, Joe

Hi Colin,
Can you put aside a VG Lightning, High Planes AEW Avenger conversion, 1000lbs post war bombs and the updated decals for the Swift please.
See you there.

Well they say the design of the U2 started with the Starfighter...
Maybe it could have wings that fold up like an old-fashioned carpenter's ruler? ;D
Hooo boy oh boy, I might have to spring for one of those Lightning sets. What great news!
Hi Colin,
Can you put aside a VG Lightning and the updated decals for the Swift for me please.
Is there a rough estimate of cost ....or is that a taboo question?
Colin! Put me down for one each of the Swift resin sets, please.
Wow! Just be careful what you wish for.
Here is a picture of the VG masters (underside showing re-positioned wheel wells), off to the caster now!

Is that Mr. Lucas' handywork Colin? It looks great.
How long before one of us on here makes one with the outer wings hinged? ;D
VG Lightning set for me please Colin, plus a Swift belly tank.
As a proud owner of a Swift F7 conversion, are the roundels/serials in that set also slightly undersized? Mine's in the loft and I don't recall what markings (other than serials and the white stripes for the Cranfield option) feature.
And what's the diameter of the Dakota wheels, please? A long story but they may feature in a restoration of a FROG Shackleton MR3 (not the Shack itself but a model that needs to return Shack wheels).

Throws up possibilities for other swept wing conversions anything from the F-84 up to the F-117.
Even a forward swept wing-swing!

Yes Paul did them, we opted to model in the forward position, as when swept back it just looks like, well a normal Lightning!

I take it these are a pylon mounted pod version of the rockets carried in the fwd fuselage of the Sea Vixen ?

Narces - Chemical Warfare !!!! :o Be wary when that model goes on display (or carry a gas mask  )
Strewth, you've been busy at Freightdog Towers the last few weeks! :o :o
Hi Colin:
I cannot wait to get a few copies of your Canberra P.12 All Weather Fighter re-issue for Airfix B.(I)8. Do you know if Airfix will be re-releasing the B.(I)8? The ones on Ebay etc are very pricey.
Now I see your kit has used with other B-57/Canberra models? Would I be in violation of Artistic ownership rights if I did the same?

No Carl I don't know if Airfix will re-issue the kit, but I have no objection to you sticking the bits on any Canberra of your choice! Actually because of the circular section of the nose part, it should easily fit on any Canberra, and I've adjusted the instructions to say you could also use it on a Frog of High Planes B.(I)8 if you have one in the stash. having said that, I think using it on a B-57 is a crime against Canberra's, but that is just by opinion!

quite and I for one will be spending some £ at his stand, especially the Swift bits.

Hi guys,

8ugger you beat me to it. I've had one half done for ages and hoped to be the first! Different weapons fit though, and I'd not thought about an IFR probe.

This is not my build but the B-57s are overall much easier to come by than the B.(I)6/8/20 kits.
