This is the first build in my nine plane "Shack Pack".
The concept of this build was that the RAF needed an armed photo-recon aircraft to gain intelligence about the goings-on in the Soviet sector in Germany, especially around the Berlin Air Corridor. This became especially crucial during the Berlin Airlift. Hawker rushed a prototype and it was tested operationally by the famous Squadron Leader Biggles. It was a success and several more were procured, and used until Meteor FR.Mk9s were available.
It is the Matchbox kit with the Centaurus motor option. I added a gearbox to the Shackelton propeller unit. I drilled out camera ports and foiled them with Krystal-Kleer. Every thing else is OOB. I used Xtracolor PRU Blue and Modeldecal national insignia. The droptanks came from the spares-bin.
Adios, Larry.
