For a "from paper to plastic' groupbuild on another forum, I've decided to give this a go:

Artwork by Andrew Ley (http://conceptships.blogspot.nl/2011/06/concept-ship-art-by-andrew-ley.html).
For this I obtained Revell's 1/24 London Taxi kit (and Andrew's permission ;)), which will be butchered in to shape in the months to come.
I started out with removing the roof and sanding of the indicator lights on the front fenders, the door handles and the filler cap, as per the drawing. Next mission is to start cutting the bodywork in order to stretch it and get the length desired.

That's got to be the DEVIL of a lot of work you've got there! :o
Watching the build should be very educational, best of luck.

.....nor can I! Perhaps the words don't yet exist to describe an undertaking as gigantic as this!
You definitely have your work cut out with this build
Gondor
Thanks guys! I need all the encouragement I can get on this one ;). I've got 6 months for this build.

Never
saw that one coming.
Certainly something which needs to be built. I have always wanted to see this design in the flesh.
Wow!!
And there's me thinking of creating a convertible, or a stretched limo.
BOOOIIIINGGGG!! :o Made me sit up straight there mate! I hope you'll keep us (ME!) up to date on this build.
Yeah. Well. This one's on the backburner for a while. I need so much material for this build, and I'm in desperate need of, well, money, that I put it back in the box until my ship comes in. Or at least a small sloop.
I know the feeling. I'd settle for a small life raft myself. :-\ Sort of like my first (independent) build. That 1964 Ford Galaxie was finished, torn down and rebuilt from the time I was 10 until I was 14. It ate 2 more '64 ford kits, a slew of other kits for 'spare' parts and a slew of Parts Packs. :o
But it did pick me up ribbons in Junior High School model club and hobby shop competitions.
It's a pitty the kit isn't resin as you could dip the build into hot water to alter the shape, although a hairdyer might work on softening the plastic to stretch it :banghead:
