A good buddy of mine TaiidanTomcat from the Ace Combat Skies forum suggested I join up here to share some of my 2D alternate-universe artwork with you... specifically, the flags of an AU Earth. And the Texas Star! Living in TX I am amazed to see how many people have the state outline, state flag, or both tattooed. I could open up a tattoo parlor and sell about 100 of those TX stars the first week!!

Thank you all, for the kind words. Whenever I design a new flag, I always try to take into account the meaning and history of the original, so that the new one reflects that, yet does so in a bold and artistic way. Here are some more:

I am a big fan of Black and yellow so the Gath and Belkan flags are making me grin.
I really like the Russian flag, I know in another thread you added the sickle and hammer and that center white space could work with Red stars, The double headed eagle, Traditional Russian aircraft roundel, or even the new Russian roundel The sky is the limit on that one!

Thanks. Yeah, but I far prefer this version of the Russian flag... there are times when less is more, and I think that the simpler and cleaner look of this one is better than cluttering it up with emblems. That's one thing I'm learning as I do these flags... what works, and what doesn't.

Oh, I never said it was. In any case, I meant no disrespect... I was trying to recognize part of Texas heritage, but I guess not everyone will like everything about every flag. I love Texas... as I told someone else from this forum, I'm planning on moving to the north Dallas area as soon as I can afford to.

I don't think he meant that as harshly as it sounded. Texas is big, the terrain changes depending on where you are :thumbsup: Love these last flags. "Best Korea" looks appropriately drab and muted. Confed flag rocks! Leasath is simple but pretty :mellow:

The Crimson Skies flags look interesting, but all I can find as reference images on the Crimson Skies Wiki are SMALL images of the flags... I mean, those are smaller than most thumbnail images I've seen... if I had some better and larger examples to go by, it would help me out a lot.

My reconstruction is actually more accurate than the version posted on Wikipedia... the Wikipedia version's placement and orientation of the smaller stars was wrong, and the initial sizes of all the stars were off, so I corrected all of that.

There are a couple Independent flags I've found online, so IDK which one would be regarded as "canon" in the Firefly universe, and since I never got into the show at all, I wouldn't know which fanon source(s) are considered most reputable by the fan base. The Firefly Wiki says Blue Sun is a corporation, so IDK if they'd have a flag that was anything other than their logo, like how we have the McDonalds flag or Coca-Cola flag, etc.
I'll just stick with what I know for the time being, lol.
