Title: ARDU C-130 Hercules
Post by: rickshaw on April 17, 2011, 08:20:53 PM
Does anybody know if the C-130 Hercules which has served with ARDU wore the ARDU "Fanta Can" scheme or marked in any way to indicate it was doing work with ARDU.  Apparently one or more were used by ARDU to test various defensive systems.

has anybody done a profile of a Hercules in Fanta Can?

I do not believe any RAAF Herc ever wore the Fanta Can scheme.  The most they may have worn would have been the ARDU badge though I doubt this was even the case as they would have only been loaned to ARDU and not actually allocated as such.

Greg

I suspected that might be the case.   So, has anyone done such a profile?  I need a scheme for a trials Herc.  Fanta Can would be pretty bright on something that big.

I wonder where I can get ARDU badges from in 1/72?

There are usually ones on eBay - look for the Mirage III decals.  You may want something like the 1/48 ones though to account for the C-130 size.
