Two, 2!, blood sacrifices to the modeling gods in under ten minutes! Pierced left my left index finger with a file while thinning an intake lip, then mildly sliced my right thumb while trimming some flash. YEAH BABY!!!
Just in case you're wondering, it's an old Airfix Gnat that will probably be painted as an RAF target drone.
Painfull, this mojo stuff......... ;)
TR,
are you boasting or complaining?
An excellent use for the old Gnat. Have you seen that Airfix are doing a new mould?

Neither, just loving it!

Yep, but older ones are good enough for what I inflict on plastic! ;D
The modeling gods are pleased with your sacrifice... you may keep all your limbs and digits ;D
I can totally understand an Airfix Gnat making you want to stab something - try the Gnat next time though....

Yes, seems a particularly evil bit o' work, but she should look good in hi-viz yellow and red. Anyone know exactly which paints I should use?
Xtrakit Sea Vixen instructions call out Red Arrows Red (BS537) and Golden Yellow (BS536) for their paint range. Hope that helps.

Ah yes, the old BS Numbers, fully explained
here! (http://whatifmodelers.wikia.com/wiki/BS_Number) ;D
YEEEEEHA! Just found a (crappy) 1/72nd AIM-9 in the spares bin, think I'll have that impacting the Gnat!
I'm glad you found your mojo. I still haven't found mine....
Coming along gradually. Hole drilled for the impacting missile, the toothpick will be painted to represent a flame. Cockpit has been blanked off, don't need bang seats in a drone now, do we?

Painting is just about done, bit of 'touch up' here and there, pull the masking off the canopy. Sure is looking shiny!

Looks nice enough to eat Ratty  (Not eat Ratty before anyone says anything, but the model looks nice enough to eat - I blame Duncan :banghead:)
It is no small relief to me to see you got your mojo back and then some, Rat-San! That paint scheme is going to be a real head-turner!

It might be obvious to you and me, but we are talking about a lot of Canadians, Yanks and Duncan here ;D
Actually, Canadians are pretty good at grammar, eh? ;D
Gnatty! ;D
Masking is off, except on the nose transparancy, still a wee bit o' touch up to do here and there, and some white undercoating where the roundels are going to go:

Lucky You. The Whiffing Muse has not visited me this year.
I am stuck doing "Real World" (albeit obscure real world stuff) and Sci-Fi this year, so far.
The worst part is that in our local contest (Fremont CA IPMS Hornets) we actually have a category for "quirkiest" model....
