Title: Pretty much every Stealth ever
Post by: sotoolslinger on September 03, 2010, 02:58:51 PM
So it started like this
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_6343.jpg&hash=59c9fe9f3ef653b636ff627c1dc4cbeb9af59744)
I decided I didn't like the F-19 wings.
Then I got a YF-23 at the nats so now she looks like this
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_0321.jpg&hash=b7d640af21763598fa81206ab76db1d79e0a0663)
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_0323.jpg&hash=e3236e50ef936b843bbb9103a59cd6fe026df947)
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_0324.jpg&hash=b05b3bac6e94d1596563e63e26a95f00422adb4f)
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_0325.jpg&hash=67cacddc6a89c29a49e5d77b5b645c3a9f778796)
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi253.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh50%2Fsotoolslinger%2FFerret%2FIMG_0326.jpg&hash=3686d56a24c35c1a700b072d82ccac5e92b933b1)
I added the upper from an F-117 and the 23 wings

From below it kinda reminds me of the original Cylon raiders.

Thanks all y'all
Wasek welcome to you . Having seen your stuff we'll get along just fine ;D
Arkon ,yeah it just kept growing engines  I initially planned on the fuselage engines being air breathers and the SR-71'S being rockets or SCRAM's or some such so the F-23's will be ion engines (or some such) Cause I couldn't bear to cut them off
Cherny ,good eye, this was originally concieved as the companion piece to the Viper model A. :o
Still might be I have no backstory at this point.
Thorvic I had almost managed to forget the horror of Judge Dredd . As a big fan of the comics I was ......I can't say how I felt on a family friendly site... now I actually have to go look that crap up :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Tdan it ain't a big secret. I just work in shapes. Sometimes I really don't have any plan or backstory for a model at all. I just see shapes and realize that if I put them together they will be coooooool
I actually had a guy tell me what an F up I was at the IPMS nats.  I mentioned what I was going to do with my F-23 and my F-20 and I could see the dude actually turning different colors when he told me how much those models go for on E-BAY.
My response was kinda , " Yeah, no I am going to cut them up in little pieces and kitbash them." He got all stiff and walked off    ;D

...so I take delight in the other fellow's discomfiture.

Again, the "custom car" thing is widely accepted, WHY NOT with aircraft, as well??

Things with any more than six propeller blades (like a jet turbine) aren't my thing, but I applaud your zany creations anyway.

Whoa! Actually, with all the facets, it struck me as being like a version of the Draconian Marauder from Buck Rogers that was actually designed by somebody with taste.... ;D

Whichever way you go with this, it will undoubtably look speedy. So why not have it in some form of racing livery?

Will look forward to seeing the completion of this one.

QuoteI initially planned on the fuselage engines being air breathers and the SR-71'S being rockets or SCRAM's or some such so the F-23's will be ion engines (or some such)

Why not do this as a competitor (ala YF-22/YF-23) or compliment to the F-302 from Stargate:

(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.moddb.com%2Fimages%2Fmods%2F1%2F9%2F8387%2FF-302.jpg&hash=c513b61b18942f4b15a1d652accff0e1bb9f91da)

The F-302 was fitted with four sets of engines: two traditional jet engines, two aerospike engines, one rocket motor, and a naqahdriah-based hyperspace window generator. You could do something similar.

Regards,

Greg

Thanks all y'all  I have some PSR done pics later, Greg I like the idea but must admit I have never seen a second of any of the Stargate series. Just the original flick. Doing the backstory would require some serious research. Feel free to write one up though . ;D

Will do let me get a bit further into the build. I know it will have rail guns, lasers ,and conventional guns as well as the 3 different types of engines. I hadn't planned on it being so advanced that it would have warp type engines but heck who knows. I'm not even sure of the scale at this point.

This is so awesome it hurts my brain.

I 2nd Greg's suggestion for an F-302/X-302 competitor.  Might need to make it like X-402 (since the X-301 was a rebuilt Deathglider, the X-303 was the Prometheus, and the X-304 became the the Daedelus class battlecruisers (BC-304)).

I would go either with a competitor to the X-302 (ala YF-22/YF-23).  Maybe even do that, but then have it recast in the role of a heavy striker compliment to the F-302 (ala what was considered with the FB-23 from the YF-23).

Greg

The metallic eagle scheme that's currently on the F-22 might look sharp.

Then again, you could go with a modified shuttle scheme like I did for my SF-23.

Alas, though present most of the time, I didn't actually witness any Zealot Baiting myself.  But for sure, there was a very high proportion of the joyless end of the spectrum evident.  That's unhealthy competition for you, I suppose.  And as for OGLs comment about the dark side, the display was arranged in that way, ranging from light to very dark wiffery.  The JMNs certainly needed their penlights, just to find their way past the Toolslinger collection.

This fine Multistealth creation will get them going.  Don't forget them seat buckles, and be sure to open a few superdetailed panels up...

Here's the intro for the cartoon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwwhZHERlG4).  Kinda like GI Joe in space.

I'm doing a prequel type thing with shuttles, space operations complexes, kitbashed spaceplanes, etc.  Basically a 1 man GB.

What that needs now is a nice sensible sober airline scheme applying to it - Pan Am or suchlike.  White uppers, silver underside, grey wings with a blue cheatline.  The cognitiive dissonance induced will just melt the single brain cell of all passing zealots.

Badly want to see this and a few others at Telford.  How about it, Toolslinger?

Does that mean you're confined within the Estados Unidas for like... forever?  :o  Maybe they'll let you go when the place descends into utter anarchy and chaos, so perhaps be seeing you next year.

Telford is mid-November, but I wouldn't trust the post.  Scooterman has bravely sent stuff over before, though.

I love the crazy shape. The colours make it look like it ought to be in a toybox though xD

It kinda reminds me of something of the TV series Buck Rogers, only 1,000,000 times cooler, and 5,000,000 less cheesy ;D
Excellent stuff Ron

One thing that struck me about this one is how angular it is on top, and how smooth and curvaceous the underside is.  A neat contrast for sure.  I like how the colors were subdued as well.
Nice job bending that putty.

That bad boy is cool lookin'.

I also recognize the book that is in the background of that fourth pic.  I don't remember the name of it, but that was one book I did NOT want to take back to the library when I was done with it.  If you don't mind, let me know what it is so I can look for it.

I look forward to more pics if you take Weaver's suggestion.

He is most exactly correct.  If nothing else, maybe one of the talented Photoshoppers here can do a dark stellar background around your completed model's outline?

This is truly wild and inspired work, Ron.

I understand the local phrase, (auto translated by the inbuilt profanity filter  ) would be

'Bad donkey'...?

Is that like a recalcitrant mule?  Home on the range, and all that?
