I originally started the HobbyBoss 1/700 Arizona as a seagoing vessel for the RN, but haven't been able to stop "tinkering" so that now it will become a flying "winged" battleship of the USN....other than that, it's a case of "wait and see"....eventually.
Or "wait and guess" if you don't get the hang of the electrophotonumerography at some point.....
Some minor progression this morning as I've been clearing stuff away and need to pop to the tip as soon as my cake comes out of the oven.

Fruit Cake ?
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
We have a many sided "flying wing" now, with the vast underbelly required for fuel, engines, etc...
The "ship" bit is complete except for aerials.
I need to add some detail to the vast underbelly, and exhaust nozzles too.
Not a big job, and then it's painting time.
Probably tomorrow. ;D
Now, now.....
Bought a more suitable "belly" from the £1 shop....8 small plates.
Just attempting to superglue the base and plate together. If this doesn't work...and it seems reluctand, I have a back up plan NOT involving nails lol.
Some slight tinkering, then spraying tomorrow. Photos and a story later.

Meanwhile....the story.
The USS Tequila was a development of the Flying Battleships, the Leviathans, begun after a scientific breakthrough in 1910, and buil;t by all the majoy powers...Great Britain, The United States, France, Germany and Japan. They were involved heavily during the First World War of 1912 to 1921.
After the war, some nations looked to see how they could improve the Leviathans, and the USN hit upon the idea of "flying fortresses" being able to hover and move around 2000 feet up. These were to be essentially a defensive deterent, heavily armed and due to the height achieved in flight, all powerful.
Despite the best intentions of the USN, including help from Sky Captain and the ever inventive "Dex", the Tequila could barely achieve full altitude, and in fact, the whole design proved unsuccessful....the aims far exceeded the available scientific and technical knowledge. AS such, the other observant powers scrapped any ideas to emulate the USN, and the Tequila remained in US waters, where eventually it foundered in early 1943. 5 crew were injured but all the 1000+ crew were rescued due to the supporting surface craft.
The full story and "build" will appear (I hope) in a newsletter....Chris has the story now.
The concept of the "flying fortress" was resurrected by the Nazis when the built the "Germania".
The Germania will be coming.....soon!!

Not yet. I've emailed you
Sent it again.
I wonder, if this fails I'll email it to Nev and OKL and see if it arrives via them. Peculiar. Must be the Volcano lol.
I've sent it to Aircav, OGL and Nev as back up. I blame Iceland.
Meanwhile, first wash of bluey-grey applied. When this has dried, I'll do it all again. Then I can start drybrushing, etc....
Pictures at some time, but they'll be blanked from Overkiller as he's an ungrateful sod ;D ;D ;D
True, my friend. A couple of washes applied, some drybrushing, but a bit more before a bit of delicate work with the brush before decals. Extra drybrushing and washes to tone things down a bit.
And, OK, I'll pass the photos round, but not until next week until after I've returned from a glorious weekend of Rocky Horror debauchery and fun.
By the way, Rocky was in Hull last week....and you didn't go??? ;D
