Title: Going to Boston for Vacation, hobby shop suggestions?
Post by: Gary on August 07, 2009, 07:06:37 AM
I am actually going to be in Waltham and the way I figure it, if I am in a city with over a million people, there needs to be an awesome hobby shop. That being said, Manhattan was a major disappointment. Hoping it's not the same story here.

So can anyone suggest an awesome hobbyshop? Lotsa airplanes and sci-fi?

From Gray Ghost 531 on ARC:

"Spare Time Hobbies is a little west of Boston in Manchester. Great store, huge selection crammed into a tiny space."

Sorry I can't find more

Boston is known for four things:
1) A lot of history and historical sites
2) A cultured and well educated citizenry
3) Excellent seafood
4) The worst drivers this side of Rigel 7

Be careful on the roads!  ;D

The New England Aquarium is a world class facility that I can reccommend, they also do whale watching trips to Stellwagon bank off the north tip of Cape Cod. Worth spending a day on those.

I echo that.  I've got a buddy that was pulled over here for suspected drunk driving (he doesn't drink, and he forgot to turn his windshield wipers off after going through a puddle... the cops told him he drove worse sober than most do drunk).  He's one of the better drivers in Boston...
